I think Ewing was more important for winning games, but a good chunk of what he did was due to his size. Miller was more skilled. How do we define "better"?

My buddy were talking about this earlier. Define it however you wish. We couldnt come up with an answer really... so i guess that makes it a good question...

I'd say Miller... those Pacers teams would've been atrocious without him. Travis Best?? Dale Davis?? Not sure how their career stats matchup, but I do believe Reggie was certainly a better all-around player.

Helping a team win is the definition of skill, talent, greatness. Whomever does more to help their team win is better, whether that is because they are 7' or because they can dribble and shoot is completely immaterial

Ewing was better, but they are close enough that if someone comes up with a well-researched and well-thought out reason to take the opposite answer that is reasonable

Exactly what I was thinking. Ewing would be the player I would choose if I was drafting a player for my team.

Ewing seems to be the 1st thought, but the more you think about it, could go either way. Liked both of them when they played.

Picking between both players at the beginning of their career, every coach in the history of basketball is going to select Ewing.

Ewing easily. Even though he was the worst of the big time centers of his day (Olajuwon, Robinson, Shaq) you could throw him on any team and make them legit. Those big mean are franchise players, a lot more so then shooting guards. Skillwise you can't compare because of the positions. It would be like saying Jameer Nelson is more valuable then Dwight Howard because he as better skills.
