Yes. I'm trying to move out there by March 1st in hopes of signing a 6-month lease. Problem is no one will lease from you if you're unemployed and no one will hire you unless you live there.

I've got enough $$$ to pay for a 6-month lease, and I've advanced far enough in my education (bachelors degree) that I should be able to land some sort of employment in a town that's population is mostly uneducated and under-qualified.

I should be able to land a job that will pay rent (like a sub teacher, sports book ticket writer, etc.) until a career comes along. And with March Madness starting in a month, books should be in the market for on-call writers.

Blue,

Ticket writer pays no money. Use a Vegas address on your resume, regardless of it being legit or not.

Try a temp agency for a job. Your degree could be a handicap because nobody wants to hire someone who will quit for a better job when it comes along.

If you apply for a ticket writer don't tell them about your degree.

Unless it's changed a lot in the last 10 yrs, I've signed many 6 or 3 mos. leases, as a retired person. i.e. no job. Paid all 6 mos. in advance once, but usually no prob.! BOL B4 you rent any place do a CLOSE inspection for signs of BUGS, mainly roaches.

A security deposit is all that is needed at many...............

From there they may want to check your credit report and/or some W-2's.

However, in these tough times of Vegas, it's fairly easy to find a place to rent.........tons of empty condos/apartments/houses.

I lived in Vegas hotels for a year. Cost me on average $25 a day, that makes it $750 a month, includes all utilities. I met a lot of nice people.

What is your degree in?

No reason you should be paying anything for a room..............other than ignorance.

Yes, one can basically live in hotel to hotel for free........if they know how to work the comp system, which many do.

I've had friends that lived free in hotels for 3+ years..............and by doing such, built a very sizable bankroll.

Fish is on crack.

I want to see him do it for a year, on average of less than $25 a night.

I have some things lined up, but making it a year, with no rent in vegas is tough

LOL, i wouldn't go that far.

I could see someone going 6-8 months, but most comps are only good for 3-4 days. I have a address out here in Cincinnati, which is great. Not sure if you get more outta state offers than in state. I have my mail forwarded to me so we will see.

I am going to try and do 2 months, if I can do more, I will keep a blog on here how I am doing.

You could almost rotate the 12-15 casinos. by the time you are on hotel #15, you are getting offers from casino #1 again and start all over again.

But you have to kinda play for comps, which isn't good. if the games are there, play them, if not, don't play for comps, cheaper to just pay for it
