I have a family member who has had an arraignment plead not guilty, and is awaiting trial. What type of info can I get about what is going on with them. Is a transcript on the arraignment public records, can I get info on penalties they may face.
The only reason I'm asking is he doesn't want anyone involved and I'm not sure he is being honest with everyone.

Most courts have their public records available on line, which will tell you want to know about court dates, the charges, etc. Just do a search for the clerk of courts for the court you want to research.

A "transcript" is what the court reporter takes down word for word, and that is not available anywhere for free.

Thanks guys, I thought looking up court documents would be easier. I'll find out soon enough, I am going to the hearing whether he likes it or not. i know i can just call the court and find out when that is.
