it was OK, but still only about 1% as good as Fast Times. The best thing is that baseballprospectus was able to identify the exact Cubs game they were at. I'll take 16 Candles as the best John Hughes attempt

Of the 'brat pack' trilogy, Breakfast Club was the best.
Having said that, IMO, Hughes best effort was Planes, Trains and autormobiles.

When I was 15 I could have watched the Breakfast Club 85 times in a month. A few years later and it isn't hard to see the irony that the characters really were one-dimensional
