Buddy and I having this discussion last night. We could only think of a handful of current players we think will go to the hall as of today. What do you think?

Bryant
Garnett
Pierce
Shaq
Allen
Kidd
Duncan

Wade or James on the border due to lack of NBA time or what? Wade does have a ring.

Is Pierce a sure-fire HOFer? I mean, I think he's great and all. I guess having so many pts, for one team, and the ring put him over the top?

In my mind he is but others may not think so. What do you think?

If he plays well for a few more years he'll def get in. His career numbers, aside from points, aren't all that impressive - but, if he were to play 2 (or maybe 3) more years, his non-scoring numbers will be approaching those of someone like scottie pippen.

I think you have to have Ray Allen on the list. If some people say that Reggie Miller is deserves the HOF, than Allen definatley will be a shoe in being that he is a lot better than Miller ever was.

Pierce still needs to have a handful of more successful seasons to be a sure-fire HOFer, but the guy is a soldier. Remember he was involved in a bar fight in 2000 and nearly died from getting stabbed 11 times in the neck and face. I guess that was the Inglewood coming out in him! Still, a very solid player.

Don't know. Guy has more than 20K points and only 40 NBA players have that many points not to mention he's only done it with one team. Guy not only has a ring but was the NBA Finals MVP. They probably should've won ring two last year as well.

I agree with all but Pierce and Allen are questionable in my opinion

PIERCE and ALLEN are not "questionable"

Both are certain to be in the basketball hall of fame.........unless they get caught with murder or gambing on games.

Keep in mind, not that it matters, but as added gravy, both ALLEN and PIERCE had terriffic college careers.........and the basketball hall of fame, unlike MLB or the NFL, consider college as part of the equation for hall of fame consideration. Again, this is added gravy for both ALLEN and PIERCE, as both are certain HOF'ers based solely on their NBA careers.

why isn't Lebron in? Because if he had a career ending injury today (i wouldn't wish this on anyone) - he doesn't make the HOF

Dwight Howard will certainly make it

This is what he's ALREADY done at the age of only 25....

Howard has amassed several NBA and franchise records and awards during his young NBA career.
He has led the league in rebounds per game three times, blocks per game twice, and double-doubles twice. He is also the youngest player in NBA history to reach 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 and 6,000 career rebounds, and the youngest player in NBA history to lead the league in rebounding and blocks. Following Howard's 2009–10 season, he became the first ever NBA player to lead the league in total rebounds for five consecutive seasons. He surpassed Wilt Chamberlain's record of four from 1959–60—1962–63, and again from 1965–66—1968–69.

He became the youngest player in NBA history to average a double double in the regular season.
He also became the youngest player in NBA history to average at least 10.0 rebounds in a season and youngest NBA player ever to record at least 20 rebounds in a game.

He became the first player in NBA History to lead the league in rebounding and blocks in consecutive seasons, and was also the first player in history to ever lead the league in rebounding, blocks, and field goal percentage in the same season.
