Hate using the word "Fix"

But let's say you got some Info, 1 or 2 Key players are Hurt... maybe they fell in the Shower..... slipped down the Stairs in the locker room, etc..
Someone is Point Shaving ........Whatever the case will be.

Would have to know if you bet it....screw the players being out, I would have to know if it were a definite fix...

for me it would have to be when one team plans to lay down for a cover by the other.. like when they are favored by 20ish and they let up to make it a 5-10pt game whole way... that is much better than hoping some athletes dont try to win a 4 pt spread for pride and after they are up 2 or 3 a dumb foul happens.. or trying to cover 8pts and a stupid 3 kills them... etc

if I thought I could have any success doing the "beg, borrow, steal" thing, I would already be doing it

Doubling my entire net worth is good enough for me

Would bet a little more than I can afford but not much. Even a fix is not a sure thing.

Nope! Reason? I've experienced the "fix" only to find out after the game that it was a set-up and the team that was suppose to shave the points didn't.

Me and my buddy knew about a game that was fixed in 1978 or 1979. it was the boston college fix. one of the players lived a mile from us and we got the word. we went to 2 bookie shops and called 4 bookies but they got the word too. none of them had the game on line. we knew it was a matter of time before word would get out and they would pay the price. hell, l if i knew about it, you can imangine how many other people knew. i will never forget that night and trying like hell to get the bet in. we had $500 to bet but came up empty. we were sick the next day when BC won but didnt beat the spot

wouldn't do it. I'm a very competitive person, and knowing the outcome takes all the competitiveness out of it. I like to win knowing that I put work in.

In the 60's my friend and his brother in law, who was always up to some shennanigans, drive out to Santa Anita at 3 in the morning. The brother in law takes a huge needle out of the trunk and goes into the stables and shoots up some horse with something. The next day my friend, his brother in law, and their buddies beg, borrow and steal everyting they can get and put it down on this horse. The race goes off - horse is higher than a kite and comes in dead last.

Also - I think it is in the book "Goodfellas" [not the movie]. Henry Hill and his buddies lost a ton of money on a fixed basketball game.

If it were a legit fix...meaning you had like Alabama -35 vs LA Tech and every Bama coach/player was 110% in on it then yes, I would hammer down - anyone who says they wouldn't is a lunatic or liar. It is like saying you wouldn't take a million in cash if a billionaire handed it too you or a 500% raise in salary for the year.

wouldn't bet it, I'll stick to capping, + you get a bad reputation in NV if you get labeled for having inside info.
