Thunder trade Jeff Green back to the Celtics

Just before Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, the Boston Celtics agreed to ship center Kendrick Perkins and guard Nate Robinson to the Oklahoma City Thunder for swingman Jeff Green and big man Nenad Krstic, two league sources told ESPN.com's Chad Ford on Thursday.

Celtics director of basketball operations Danny Ainge said Wednesday that Perkins is out at least a week after spraining the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

It's a homecoming of sorts for Green. He was selected by the Celtics in the first round (fifth overall) in the 2007 draft. But he was traded with Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West to then Seattle SuperSonics for Ray Allen and Glen Davis.

The Celtics' pursuit of a perimeter player intensified when it became apparent that Marquis Daniels might miss the rest of the season with a spinal injury.

i was waiting for a post on this lol. Probably the worst trading sequence since the isiah days.

On top of that, they are apparently making all this room for troy murphy, of all people, to play celtic basketball.

last year they were busy until aout 5pm EST - i think the league makes rulings on trades after the deadline, and only then does the word come out.. but I remember this day last year, when danny was supposed to be on local radi oat 5pm EST, but was at least 40min late because he was still working

now, reports saying murphy will sign with heat. Ainge better do something in the next hour to salvage this process.

green is a nice piece, but how is doc going to juggle the minutes now? Is he going to put kg at center just to fit green into the starting lineup?

they picked up green because Daniels is reportedly out for the season, and they've had no one to back up PP - Green will come off the bench, and be a tweener

and if they stay put, I assume Glen Davis starts at center
