that is, without anyone knowing?

I try to make a habit of it, but don't do it as much as I would like.

yes, my wife makes fun of me for it, but anytime we're driving and I see someone with trouble, I stop and help even if I have somewhere to be. Something about helping out a stranger that changes your whole feel and puts a positive charge on the day.

Once in awhile I pay for the person behind me in line at Starbucks. Just something nice to do I guess.

Speaking of nice...buddy and I are at the bar the other night and we each had two beers and split a plat of nachos. I am deploying very soon and he was asking me about timelines and what I'll be doing etc. I went to pay the bill and the bartender tells me the bill has been paid by another patron who overheard our conversation. Complete random act of kindness that was much appreciated.

I don't charge people serving for preparing their tax return. It's an honor to do so.

Willie, you should what my tax return will be for next year. It will appear as if I haven't worked for almost a year.

Frequently, but I guess they are not random. My wife does a lot of work with orphans.

I contribute to my community and create jobs in this horrible economy by littering. It is random because I am never sure what I will throw out the window or where. You are welcome.

There is a hoodlum/gangster kid I play poker with every weekend, he ended up going broke and it was his birthday. I ended up taking him out for dinner and gave him 500 to buy himself something for his birthday, he seemed like it was the nicest thing someone's done for him, oddly enough I can tell he looks up to me and since then always has my back.
