I'm not sure yet. I'm leaning toward the Diamondbacks though. Gibson has said every single spot is open right now and I can be sure they will be trying hard to impress.

"Bochy said his pitchers in the first game will be Lincecum, Madison Bumgarner, Casey Daigle and Javier Lopez. Joe Saunders will start for Arizona, with prospect Wade Miley among the D-backs' scheduled relievers."

Giants 7-4 in the bottom of the 5th. Fade the World Champions at your own peril. They have all their pitchers and players back except shortstop Uribe who they quickly replaced with Tejada. They easily win the NL West and likely win Over 100 games. They won 92 last year with some very sluggish pitching in August.

I'm holding a dime ticket at 15-1 on the Giants to repeat. While the future has Philadelphia, New York, and Boston short priced, I'll take my chances with a team complete with starting pitching, middle relief, all star closer, rookie of the year behind the plate, all players signed from last year but one as stated above. Last year was no fluke. Beat Atlanta 3-1, Philadelphia 4-2 and Texas 4-1. Beat Halladay and Cliff Lee. In a division they can easily win putting them likely in the playoffs easier then any other team. Good luck to others.

I meant fade them in Spring Training.

My comment on the Giants really wasn't directed at your comment to fade them but just an overall statement. This team is the real deal and anyone that thinks last year was a fluke is sadly mistaken and will pay for it. Plus, with now understanding and experience of the level of intensity a team has to reach to become a champion only makes them more dangerous IMHO. Their starting pitching staff reached levels of performance in September and October rarely seen and they are still very young and only will get better. I will be shocked if they don't runaway with the NL West putting them in the playoffs. However, the team that has the mental edge come October is the one that will become the next World Champion.

I'm not sold on the lineup vs the powers, but i will take them +1500 with that staff vs anyone.

Understood. Keep in mind that line-up took out Halladay and Lee in the playoffs. I think the Phillies are going to miss Werth badly behind Howard. I give them a slight edge but not roughly 2-1 versus 15-1. All the other National League teams will have to beat these two teams to get to the World Series IMHO.

I like two exhibition games today.

Phillies and Nationals.

Give an early try on some bases capping.
