its sad about the kid dying after the game. its been all over espn and has been talked about at a pretty steady rate.

at the same time, a female player on mtsu was stabbed to death. all this got was a blip on espn one day. no further mention of it, no developing details etc.

im curious at why the disparity of coverage? i understand womens basketball is irrelevant and that men get the headlines, but it just kind of irks me how her death is minimized over the high school kids death.

I see where you are coming from, but if the mtsu basketball player was male, there really wouldn't be much coverage of it either.

It's a little bit of a B&W deal. But the media will also eat up a story about somebody who experienced the highest high in his young life, only to see it snubbed out a moment later. If the kid hadn't hit the last second game winning layup, it wouldn't have got nearly the airtime that it did imo.

Both stories suck and are a parents worse nightmare.

I think over time it might even out as the girls killer goes to trial and all.
