March Madness Vegas tip of the day:

You will encounter outrageous lines at the betting window in Vegas during March Madness. Ive seen lines as long as 30-40 minute waits.

Many books will have a "race betting" only window.

Skip the huge lines and go to the race betting window. Place a couple 2 dollar horse betting wagers. Then ask if you can place a few sports bets before leaving. This has worked EVERY time for me.

Redeye and I have been coming to Vegas for the last 25 years and We have never had a problem with lines. Make your wagers the evening before. There also are no lines during the games as everyone waits until the games are over to collect their winning wagers and make their next bets. Just bring enough $$ that you don't have to wait until the game is over.

Just stay away from making wagers in the morning on the opening games. Bet right after the first games if you haven't got your action in yet or during the day after the opening tip offs. If you need to make plays on the morning games, just move away from the tables for a few minutes and make them the night before or on your laptop in your room or before you get to vegas. You only have yourself to blame on the long lines in the morning, since there are other options. Not sure why some don't get this ! I'll be in town on Tuesday afternoon and most all of my wagers will be in before Thursday am.

Only problem with the Hilton experience is their hard to beat lines.

I'll stick to one of the Stations casinos.

Waiting in the lines to bet are not all that bad,you just have to be patient they move right along.

And if you pay to sit in a ballroom or so forth they have betting stations they set up.

Ive been going the past 7 years or so and I have seen some very long lines on Thursday and Friday morning. Didnt get my bets in the night before one time and ended up waiting 35 minutes in a line at the Monte Carlo.

Ive also seen super long lines at Paris.

My point was, if you are in a spot and need to get a bet in and the line is long. Go to the race window.
