Yea Yea Yea I know fellow Minnesota old timers the tournament is not as great as it was in the 1970's...not on a major TV station in the Twin cities (channel 45 now not channel 5).. they might not sell out every session..But its still an iconic event for St. Paul and the state...so save your typing!!

top 4 teams seeded and the other 4 teams unseeded and random draw to make the Quarter final matchups..have to win 3 in a row to win state

Game 1
Edina (#2 seed, defending champ, 5th trip to state in a row) vs Blaine (unseeded, 6th trip in a row)
two teams tied 2-2 earlier in the season. Edina a clear favorite. Blaine has done almost nothing in their previous 5 trips

edina - 1 1/2 -120

Game 2
Duluth East (#3 seed, in tourny last year, strong deep team) vs White Bear Lake (unseeded, 0-17 in previous first round hockey tourny games since the 1940's one of the strangest streaks you will see. Beat their arch rival Hill Murray for the first time in 16 games in double OT region final to make it for the first time in 6 years. Will have the best Fan base in St Paul today)

Duluth East - 1/2 -160

Game 3
Eden Prairie (#1 seed, powerhouse team, won state 2 years ago) vs unseeded Lakeville North (comes from the dog south Region 1)

Eden Prairie - 3 1/2 +110

Game 4
Eagan (#4 seed, first trip to state in recent memory if not ever have to check that) vs Moorehead (unseeded, got through the north region again. Interesting stat on Moorehead, they don’t bring a band, they think band for sports is a waste of time, and they have reached 7 state finals in 13 trips to state! but are 0-7 in the finals!!!)

Eagan - 1/2 -160

tourny odds

Eden Prairie (seems like a soft draw to finals) -120
Edina 9-5
Duluth East 4-1 (wise guy pick)
Eagan 8-1
Moorhead 11-1
White Bear 11-1 square underdog pick)
Blaine 13-1
Lakeville South 400-1

All games go to the favorites as all 4 seeded teams advanced

Edina beats Blaine 3-2
Duluth East beats White Bear LAke in Double OT 4-3

Eden Prairie wins 5-0 over Lakeville North (sorry had typed in LAkeville south earlier! both suck one of them makes it each year)
Eagan 3-0 over Moorhead (with one empty netter)

For Friday night.
Edina - 1/2 -150 over Duluth East
Eden Prairie - 1 1/2 -120 over Eagan

WE (alum) kicked Edina's pluch ASS!! NO team we'd rather beat, EP will be tuff. Also in 1A another Duluth area tm Hermantown will play maybe the best tm in the tourney STA. They can score. But unlike when I went there, East also has the best looking young Honeys! Go Hounds!@):)<><>

number 3 seeded Duluth East wins it 2-1 in OT over Edina to advance to its first state final since 2000

number 1 seeded Eden Prairie taking advantage of a soft bracket as expected beat upstart Eagan 5-1. State winner in 2009 back for another title shot.

earlier in the year Duluth East beat Eden Prairie (of course Eagan beat Eden Prairie earlier in the season also!)

Good matchup with respect given to Eden Prairie who are the number one seed and have not had a hard time yet and East with two close OT wins

eden Prairie - 1 1/2 even

total 4 1/2 over -125

class A
St Thomas - 1 1/2 -130 over Hermantown (Nice Duluth suburb)
