which do you dislike(hate) more?

They're in the same boat if you ask me, but the crooked cab drivers burn my ass. Then when you call them out, it really pisses them off.

Fucker jumped outta his cab and called LVPD on my ass. I wasn't disbuting the fare, the fact he was gonna take me outta my way to make a few bucks is what pisses me off. If these assholes would fly right, they would realize they would get taken care of.........PRICK

yup philly has flat rate get picked up at the airport and you dont have to worry about being taken for a ride....

sucks here in boston fu-king cabbies will drive you around in circles if they suspect your from out of town....christ sometimes i tell them which way to go...

In Vegas, the cabbies rip off the tourists every day by "long hauling" them from the airport to the strip - charging them $30-$40 for a ride that should only cost $12-$15.

The $5-8 or so shuttles work pretty well, esp. if you are staying near trop and the strip, it might take 30-45 minutes to get downtown that way.

We had the craziest taxi driver ever going to the airport in Vegas a few months ago. We made the mistake of telling the guy that we were in a minor hurry. He was going 80 the entire way and cutting everyone off. I was honestly scared for my life. White knuckled to the dash... Second worst ever was the Haitian that drove me from Lauderdale to Miami. He was blasting French rap and wasn't even paying attention to his driving. Scary stuff. At least he got me there quickly.

The last time I took a cab in Vegas I saw that the driver was going to take the tunnel from the airport to the Strip (which is the long way around). I yelled at him to not take the tunnel but he said it was too late. I saw that the driver had a vehicle number on the back of the front seat along with a number to call for complaints. My driver gave me a discount since he knew that I knew he took the long way around.

Call the number and report any driver that takes the long way around along with the cab company.

Scariest cab ride of my life: Me and a few of my colleagues were really drunk in Thailand and we rode back to hotel which was pretty far from town, riding on the back of mopeds. These guys were crazy and they were hauling ass. I was drunk as fuck though and laughing the entire way, good times.

long hauling is Illegal in Vegas, just tell them you are going to report them to the Taxi authority. The one that claimed he was going to call LVPD on you was straight up lying because if you simply explain you know he long hauled you he would lose his license. Next time it happens just tell them what you are going to pay and make it less than they would normally get. If the fair price is $15 and they try to hit you with $28 (like a cabby did long hauling me from the Airport to Ballies just pay him $10 and say I don't appreciate being long hauled, he will know all he can do is suck it up and fuck off.)

happened to me 3-4 times in Vegas, bcause im usually with people from out of town, they think I dont know the city, basically short and sweet for me, I pay them what I think the fare would be. A couple of them are like......is that all your going to give me. No shit Mofo, they know if they put up a stink things only get worse for them

Some cabbies will ask you if you've been to Vegas often to see if you know much about how to get to a destination. I usually just politely tell them I don't wish to divulge any personal information about myself to a stranger. Before I started doing this they would try to suggest places for me to go. It made me wonder if they were getting paid to give out this information.
