More than 40 arrested in El Dorado gaming raids

EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) - Police in El Dorado say more than 40 people were arrested as officers raided two suspected gambling facilities in the south Arkansas city.
Police say 45 law officers from various agencies raided the two facilities starting about 11:45 p.m. Friday and made 42 arrests while confiscating 25 slot machines, cards and dice. The El Dorado News-Times reports officers also confiscated three handguns, marijuana and about $37,000 in cash.
Those arrested are being held on charges that include illegal betting, running an illegal gambling house, drug possession and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.
