I have never seen a player flop and throw himself around like that and get every call. To top things off he even tries to flop himself at the end of the game wih 0.4 left from the opposite end of the court and he gets the foul call.

Just a horribly officiated game by that crew and made it even worse to let that kid flop and throw himself into contact all game and get every call.

Agree 100% that he flopped all throughout the game on the defensive end and most of those charge calls were a joke. But that last call at the end was a foul, he was over the back on the rebound and he hacked downwards at his arm so when Howard shoots it is a foul with the contact. But i do hate centers who flop all day like he did earlier but Butler earned the win imo

no doubt it was a foul, no doubt the Butler guy fouled Gibson as well. and it was a foul on the rebound, not the shot, which is why there were only 2 FT's....the pitt player is just stupid, thats the kind of player Pitt recruits so thats the result they get

There would have been just as much controversy if the Pitt player made both free throws and won the game. In my opinion, neither call should have been made, but as it turned out Butler still won the game by 1 just like they would have if no call had been made.

I think the first foul should be called in that situation. This isn't hockey, you can't let defensive players hip-check offensive players out of bounds.

Was the last foul called on the arm slap or was it not called until after Andy Samberg flung his head back and threw the ball up behind him?

2 Free throws....double bonus...3 ft's would have been shot if it was on the shot

That was probably one of the biggest make up calls in sports history. I certainly can't remember a bigger one.

both calls shouldn't have been called imo. the last one was a foul, but at the same time, he had no chance at heaving that ball to the other end of the court AND making it, the way he was tossing it from his hip.

totally its almost like they wanted to make it look like the refs had NO money on it by calling a those fouls.... refs had a big bet on But ML 100% sure I tried to think back and I have NEVER see that kinda of last second foul called EVER ..I think we will learn in the coming years that ref is betting like that other ref that got caught was

Both calls at the end of the game were fouls.

The center definately deserves an oscar tho, as Pitt was grabbing control in the second half the center got a charge call that should have been an +1 that totally turned the game around. I actually thought Dixon should have gotten himself a T midway through the second half because the refs were absolutely killing Pitt.

I agree that both were fouls by the letter of the law, but the refs always swallow the whistle in that situation (on near half court or greater shots with less than a second left), especially in a game of that magnitude. I can recall this happening a handful of times my entire life, so for it's pretty crazy for it to happen twice in the same game. Got to let the players decide the game. Look at how badly Louisville got hacked at the buzzer on a legit shot and even then, the ref didn't make the call (though he should have in that case).

Then you have a very short memory because former Tar Heel, Tyler Hansbrough, made a fvcking career at flopping and getting every call...

Funny how this game was officiated to the last moment and that St John's game a week back the refs were in a hurry walking to the locker room with 1.5 seconds to go.

I was thinking about that last night. The ref fraternity is very tight knit and I dont think its a coincidence that this happened to a Big East team since the refs were humiliated in the Big East tournament. The head of referees (or whatever his title is) that they had on TNT after this all happened seemed like a prick too.
