PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.

Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon had a fan removed from the team's spring training facility Sunday for allegedly making racist comments to Rays outfielder B.J. Upton during a game against the Baltimore Orioles.
St. Petersburg Times writer Marc Topkin commented on the alleged incident on his Twitter account Sunday.

"[Rays manager] Maddon has fan -- in Orioles jersey - removed from Port Charlotte stadium for yelling racial comments at BJ Upton in dugout," Topkin wrote.

No further reference to the alleged incident has been mentioned following the Rays' 9-8 loss to the Orioles at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Upton, 26, has played his entire professional career with the Rays since the club drafted him in the 2002 amateur draft.

Maddon, 57, is entering his sixth season as the Rays' skipper. He has led the Rays to two AL East titles and one World Series appearance during his tenure.

Still can't believe they're gonna tamper with Twain's classic like that.

Isn't it public domain?

If not, there are still at least a handful of publishers. You can buy one that has the nigga-word, or you can buy one without. It's as much an issue of the free-market as it is tampering
