Like everyman wore some funky hat ( not sure what the style is), not a ball cap...fedora ( maybe ?).

My pop of course was in there, some "work" hat, then he'd usually wear a ballcap out at a bar or whatever, he was balding badly by age 50....maybe from always wearing a hat ? I rarely saw him without a hat except at the dinner table in fact . I guess you didn't wear the funny hat at the office while you were working....still ridirous to me !

I never got that shit and especially the TIE BS, but the lid is almost even funnier !

WTF do you need a funny hat for ? I can see like a functional winter hat that keeps your head warm ( Wife calls it a skull-cap).

Back then, the hat defined the man.
The hat lost popularity when JFK became president, hats today are making a fashion comeback.

Every man wore a hat in like the 40's and 50's and probably the 60's , too, even the 70's to an extent. I sure never got that stuff, but I remember my dad coming home from work with the suit, tie and hat. He was an account for the local electric company.

The only time I ever wear a hat ( ballcap) is if it is raining,....so my glasses don't get wet.

I never got why my dad wore these hats....not like he had to fashionable and dashing ( he was long married by say 1975, when I noticed it). He never wore a hat at the dinner table, if not in the returning from work costume ( suit, shirt. tie, hat, etc.) then often the ball cap, crazy to wear a hat everywhere, IMO ! He was very bald but I don't think the hats were to disguise that.

lmao Funny video. Those people did drive like idiots. I don't guess DWI's were handed out frequently.

I always thought wearing hats all the time would make you go bald prematurely. Thats why i never wear one. I'm not really a hat guy at all.

Women used to wear hats to church as well. I remember my friend's mom wearing a hat to church up until the 70's.

Holy fuck. Wearing a hat does not cause baldness. How does this nonsense continually get perpetuated generation after generation?

Just the other day, my mother mentioned how going outside in the winter with wet hair caused someone to catch a cold. I had to bite my tongue.

They get started by old wives' tales. People used to bellive witches flew on broomsticks at one time.

Seems like everyone got "dressed to the 9's" back then. You'll also notice that most people smoked in places you would never think of today. Just like everything else, there are trendy fashions that come and go, like the "zoot suit" and bell bottom pants. I always liked the mini skirt and will never forget a woman that stepped out of a car on a major intersection and STOPPED traffic cold. What a sight she was.

Dudes that wear their drawers halfway down their arse so the public can view their underwear, much more stylish than hat wearing people from the past, eh?
