I'm not much of an expert on Golf but I'm puzzled by this. Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

Because so many bettors are absolute idiots. At Harrah's properties you can find futures odds on who will be the leading money earner on the PGA Tour in 2011; despite currently residing in 99th place and obviously not intending to play more than a handful of tournaments, Woods is currently the even-money favorite. He's the best fade in the business right now.

I gotta pull for an American in The Masters. All The Way With The USA. If it came down to Tiger say versus a KJ Choi or Anthony Kim, Tigers sins would be forgiven.

Very simple. It is the Masters at Augusta National where Tiger ALWAYS plays well. If you recall, last year the Masters was his first tournament after all the hoopla with his breakup and he still finished tied for 4th. He will finish top 5 again this year and possibly win, thats why he is the favorite...

and possibly win

His swing is a mess, his putter has the yips, he stunk up Dubai and Doral, courses he eats up easier than Augusta, and now all of a sudden he's going to fold his arms, blink and nod his head like Barbara Eden in Jeannie, and poof, he's magically going to win the Masters?

Not bloody likely.

Maybe Anthony Kim was a bad example. How about Colin Montgomery then? He was very rude to us one time when we went to Augusta. Hope Monty finds Rae's Creek several times during the week.

we will see. I remember everyone saying the same thing last year and he finished 4th...

And there is no course he plays better than Augusta...

I agree, not likely. But would it really just blow you away if he won? Not me. Hell, he pulled a fourth place finish last year and played like shit except back nine on Sunday. If the winning score is even par or over par, he will be in the mix Sunday

And I never said he would win, just possible. The thread is about why he is the favorite, not whether he will win or not...

Why do people root for Americans over other plays? There is no difference. I mean its all random where you are born, its sort of like rooting for tall players over short players
