Just checking in and getting ready for the 2011 season.

Been following the RX daily for the last couple years and feeling ready to start chiming in with some picks of my own. Baseball is my sport and I look forward to sharing my plays...

I will do my best to post every day whether I have a pick or not. We will be very selective and will usually only have 1-2 plays a night (if any). Plays may be sides, totals, or rl's.

I normally will flat bet at 1 Unit ($100) for the first month of the season and then adjust accordingly once I've compiled enough statistics to warrant larger plays.

Train leaves the station starting Thursday!

For fun I have one spring training game for today. I don't make it a habit betting on exhibition's, but if you want to play with some beer money:

Boston Red Sox (-140) over Tampa Rays

Buchholz on the bump and the Sox starting line-up behind (at least for the beginning of the game). Sox had an abysmal showing down in Florida and will look to end their Grapefruit schedule on a positive note against a Tampa team where there is never any love lost regardless of the stakes.

Good luck!

Here we go boys and girls... The Ryan Express is leaving the station for the 2011 season!

Plays for Thursday, March 31

Two plays for the early games. Both are weather permitting. If there are any starting pitching changes plays are OFF.

Detroit Tigers (+135) over New York Yankees

Can't pass up this great number we get Justin Verlander at today. Verlander has been solid in his career against the Yanks and owns several hitters in their current line-up including Tex, Cano, ARod, and Swisher. Meanwhile, CC has been a pedestrian 15-11 against the Tigers over the last 10 years and has been typically hit hard by Miggy and Magglio. Throw in the cold weather and potential for rain and it's clear where the value lies for today's contest.

Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals OVER 8.5 RUNS (+100)

The weather is going to make the Under bets fly in for this game, but assuming we play I see this game getting over the 8.5 number. The Nationals have a better offense than people give them credit for with Jayson Werth effectively replacing the numbers vacated by Adam Dunn, the addition of Rick Ankiel, and another year of maturity for budding stars Ryan Zimmerman and Ian Desmond. The core of the Braves line-up has feasted on Livan Hernandez over the last several years and their bullpen has never been lights out. I can't promise it will be pretty, but I feel like we'll hit our over.

Might have one more play for the late game -- still deciding.

Best of luck with your plays this season to all!

0-2 today to start the season :ohno:

Not crazy about either side in tonight's match-up so we'll take a break until tomorrow's card.
