I really like the Under in the Giants/Dodgers game..

I think Lily was a great pickup late last season and I was pumped when he got signed. He is a perfect fit for Dodger Stadium, he is a flyball pitcher and we all know balls do not carry much there.

I really think Lily will the Dodgers 2nd best pitcher this season, better than Billingsley who is inconsistent and tends to walk guys a little too much. Lily is almost an auto play @ home, when he is on road at a hitters park I might fade lol..

Dodgers under looks real good for Saturday..

Two of the worst road teams in baseball won road openners yesterday. Since the price is so high against each team today ( as will be all year ) I'm gonna play against both to win back to back roadies today.

I follow the Twins. Saturday should look alittle different than yesterday. I like the match-up betweeen Loriano and the free swinging Jays. If Loriano is on and the Jays continue to swing away, which they will the chances for Loriano and the Twins getting a win today is good. It helps that Hernandez will be behind the plate as he ha s a reputation for having a wide stike zone, again setting up well for Loriano. Trend: the OVER is 8-1-1 the last 10 between these two teams.

Today should be a much different game than yesterday, butterflys are gone for Manny and Johnny, and James Shield takes the mound today with a different mind set than
last year, dropped weight and came into camp looking in great shape. Sheilds has a bit of chip on his shoulder after last years proformance and a little bit of an attitude after
being the opening day starter the last couple of years. After last nights no show Madden will have the boys ready to play. TREND: Rays are 11-3 in shields last 14 starts
againts the Orioles and the Rays are 6-2 in last 8 home games against the Orioles with Shields pitching....

Wandy Rodriguez and the Astros stay in the Philly for the second game of the series against Cliff Lee. Brett Myers was able to hold this line-up in check until Brandon Lyon got blown up and Wandy should be able to do the same. He's a guy that likes to pound the corners and keep hitters from getting anything in the air. Halladay would have kept the 'Stros to one or two runs if not key errors in the field by Francisco (dropped fly ball out of his glove) and at the hot corner. Cliff Lee is as efficient as they come. Quite frankly, the Stro's don't have much offensive talent and I expect a lot of swings and misses today with Lee letting up less than two walks.

Phillies Recommendation (1-0): Under 7

metfan reportingg in..
SO FAR 1-0 +100

TODAY..LIKE THE OVER 4.5 EVEN FIRST 5

METS will be looking to score early on Nolasco..Niese has giving up 3-4 runs in almost all spring starts and has not had success against the fish..thought collins should pigeon Dickey between niese and pelfrey

also
YANKEE ALERT..i'M not the official correspondent for the Yanks..but I probably should be. I see almost all thei games...

AJ BURNETT was sick all week and did not really get a good workout in.how much energy he has remians to be seen.so I am not sure there will be any value on this play today..with the wind blowing out io right the over first 5 and game are probably the better plays and the individual props which match the yankee lefty batters with detroits righty batters

my "NEW YORK" PLAYS:
$100
METS/FISH O 4.5 FIRST 5
NYY/DET O 5 FIRST 5
NYY/DET O 9.5

Yeah I'm super scheptical of this Dodger/giant today Gyno.
Think I'll lay off and just try to learn a thing or two about these pitchers. Hope Lilly's got it though.
1-0-1 on Dodger plays.

Phillies fan here as well. Gonna be a cold night, low 40's with 18 mph west wind. CBP runs homeplate to centerfield South to North btw. ML is way too high at -240.
The Phils bats didn't wake up until the 7th inning yesterday mostly due to Myers. Charlie is keeping his starters on a short leash at 100 pitches so the bullpen is a big factor early on without Lidge. The team also is notoriously a slow starter in April especially against lefties. Astro's Wandy Rodriguez is a lefty and was 11-12 last year with a 3.60 ERA. W. Rodriguez is 2-1 in five appearances (three starts) with a 3.05 ERA against the Phillies, and he is 1-0 in three games (one start) with a 3.12 ERA in Philadelphia.
My gut says the Phillies want to come out and pound the ball today but its so early in the season and the stats say the Phils struggled against Rodriguez last year. I'd pass on this one myself.

Although I think the Sox get it done today, not going to start chasing on them after a loss yesterday.

Really like the over in this one. Both teams seem to be in mid season form at the plate. I think sox get over their team total. Pretty sure Texas does too.

Todays Paper saying the 2nd basemen having some communication problems in infield and Twins i feel get swept. Play against them on Sunday. Twins pitching wont do crap this year. Pavano and Liriano would be 3 and a 4 on any of the good teams. And Twins havent figured that out yet! Pitching wins and unitl they spend some $$ there... its a weak divisiona nd winning it i guess make the management happy

I live in the NY area and have followed the Yanks for years. I watch every game, and like to think i have a good feel for the team, and pretty fair in my analysis of the team. I would like to contribute if I could, Great thread by the way Geno.

Sunday April 3rd

Weather: Sunny and 55 degrees

Max Scherzer is starting for Detroit trying to avoid a sweep of the series. Scherzer has great numbers versus the Yanks, current Yankees are 6-37, 1 RBI and 11k's, this is a pretty small sampling, but lopsided. However, Scherzer has been awful this spring, in the tune of 20 runs in 12 innings. Phil Hughes is starting for the Yankees, his career numbers are pretty average vs Det, 277 ba against. Victor Martinez, Johnny Peralta and Miguel Cabrera have had great success, career wise vs Hughes. Hughes velocity has been down most of the spring as well, which is something to keep an eye on.

I feel both starters come out struggling, or at least one does, like my chances on the over 9 -115 for the game. Hoping for a 7-4 type of game

Tough one to call for the Cubs. Both Garza and Olendorf both had very bad springs. Big 8th inning comeback could ignite the ballclub, but I still worry about the bats and their history with the Pirates. I wish I could be more insightful guys, but these Cubs-Pirates games have been weird lately and I have no idea what to expect out of Garza. I'm staying away.
