Wow ... Cal is such a bad coach.
3 final fours in 4 years ... He must just roll the ball out and tell them to play.

hell bragg you could coach 5 NBA players every year for 1 year and keep making it to the final 4.....he cant win though because when it comes to actually coaching he don't know how..and you cant keep counting on a 3 pointer at the end to win...2 games in a row they should of lost and it was nothing he did except go out and get the top NBA recruits that wouldn't even be in college if it weren't for the rule they cant go straight to the NBA out of High school... and then when he moves on from that school they go on probation.... go look at the schools hes coached at you'll see I'm not making it up....let's see starting lineup 5 freshman...next year starting lineup 5 freshman.....I'd bet have of them don't even go to aclass

If you dont think that Calipari knows how to coach, you are either (1) letting your personal feelings get in the way or (2) have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Kentucky could have been blown out on a number of occasions this tournament, the guy knows what hes doing

the guys an IDIOT he should be investigated for how he gets players and like I said they probably never even attend a class.....it's funny that after he leaves a program they investigate it and put it on probation for paying players but while he's at the school they don't ....I wonder why they always wait until he moves on until they look into what he does.....you must be blind to see that or just a die hard fan....come on look at his teams all he ever has is freshman and yes they are talented you could be a great coach too if you have at least 3 first rd if not 3 of the to 5 or 6 in the draft and 2 more that go in the 2nd or 3rd rd of the NBA draft.......he'd play hell to get any of them if they could still go straight to the NBA......I think the last time he coached anyone that stayed over his Soph year was when he had Demarcus Cousins and there was already a big man there I don't remember his name but he came from Huntington WV that had the kid that went to USC and he stayed there for one year and he went to the NBA

Watched them 2 yrs ago in Nawleans. That teamed played like a team that had played together for 4 yrs. not a bunch of freshmen and sophomores , that had to do with a little coaching guaranteed !

The West Virginia former UK Wildcat you refer to may have been Patrick Patterson.

The 2012 National Championship team had several upper class men who were crucial to their title run......and also very good players in their own right.
Doron Lamb, Darius Miller and Terrence Jones.
They did have the one player who is likely to be the best ever to come out of UK, Anthony Davis

your right on both parts the guy I was talking about was Patterson but I dont think that he even recruited him he came there Gillispie was still their coach.....he would have never been recruited by Calipari not a blue chipper same with all of those other guys .....and the 2012 season they had 6 players that went in the NBA draft the following year and only 1 of them was above a sophomore and that was Miller and he still went 46th in the draft so its pretty easy when you have a team that has 6 NBA draft picks ..thats starting an NBA team they went 1-2-18-29-42-46 not a bad team to so call coach and even with that they still managed to lose and not go undefeated.....and in 2009 in his first year he went out and got one of the best freshman classes that KY had with Wall ,Cousins,Bledsoe, and Orton and thats when it all started with the 1 and dones....so even at Memphs he was doing the 1 and dones but never won any championships but he had plenty of talent and soon as he left they went onto probation

I don't care who your a fan of I just said you must be blind or a die hard if you think he's a great coach...hell give anyone the talent he has every year and they can win as many games as he does ...look at how many games other coach's win with a lot less but they stay and learn the coach's system and gets a good education not just go for a year and leave

The so called "one and done" rule has nothing to do with Calipari. That rule, or "law" was instituted by the NBA and the NBA players so singling out the Kentucky coach makes little sense to me unless you're simply trying to light a little brush fire which has little life.

If you want to look at it a bit more objectively, Kansas is likely to have two of the top three picks in this year's draft. Why no comment on Bill Self? Both of his one and done-ers are supposedly much better than anyone Kentucky has on their team. The only one in the same discussion is Julius Randall and just about every mock draft has Randall well below any of the Kansas big two.

Furthermore, there are not many other freshmen on this 2014 Kentucky team besides Randall who are likely to be high first rounders. The Harrison twins, while getting much attention because of their team getting to the title game, hardly have NBA scouts drooling over them. The same can be said for any of the other starters you see line up for the championship game. This is a far cry from the 2012 championship team which had multiple legitimate lottery picks that all were in agreement on.

This topic is old and worn. The NBA and the NBA players Association made the rule. The coaches and schools have to follow it. Simple as that. The reason that Calipari gets top recruits is because of his ability to get the most out of them and get them a strong look from the NBA which is what they are looking for. Success breeds success. If he ran all of his top recruits into the ground and they all failed miserably in the NBA you can be sure the train would derail.
