Easy win with the over Sunday, total slugfest.

Apr 04 7:10 Pm start time

909 MIN TWINS [S. BAKER -R] +136 o10-110 +1½-150
910 NY YANKEES [I. NOVA -R] -146 u10-110 -1½+130

Weather : 58 degrees scattered showers 80% of precip

The Yankees suffered their first defeat yesterday, but their bats were hardly to blame. They had a 12 hit performance, scoring 7 runs, including 4 home runs. Ivan Nova gets the start tonight, he has good stuff, it's just the matter of him harnessing it. Last year he usually got in trouble his second time around the order. He has no prior history against the Twins, which is an advantage to the pitcher i my mind. The Yanks bats have been red hot, everyone has been contributing so far, yesterday it was Posada with 2 home runs. As we know this line up is loaded, Tex, Jeter,Arod, Granderson and Posada had sub par years last yr, and so far look poised for a bounce back year. With that said, they have had good success vs Scott Baker, 34-121 281.ba, 7hrs, 15rbis career, can't see why it doesn't stop tonight. The Yankees have traditionally owned the Twinkies. Yankees -145 for me. And Yankess 1H. BOL

cady, if the Yanks can pick up a SP in free agency and make a move they might just be the best team in the AL. hitting top notch, defense, bullpen incredible.. just SP weakness.. Nova a huge factor in their success.

The weather in Arlington will be chilly for tonights ballgame, a coldfront blew in this morning. It is suppose to be windy with gusts up to 30mph and temps in the 40's. I am playing under 9 small.

STL OPINION

I am playing the UNDER 9 today. I had planned to back Lohse when given the chance but I simply don't trust this offense right now. They scored 3-3-2 against the Padres and I can't play the run line until they get the bats going and I can't pay the moneyline price right now either. Morton's numbers look awful against STL but his last 3 starts (2009/2010) his ERA is 3.70, it was the 21.60 ERA in 2008 that makes it look so bad. He has given up his share of hits to STL no doubt, but Holliday is the only player to get an extra base hit against him and he is on the shelf. Lohse had a great spring and is healthy (I think) for the first time in a while. He is keeping the ball down and seems very motivated this year and he knows he is needed after Waino went down. I think he will be effective as long as he is healthy. I think staying UNDER 9 is the more likely result today, good luck all.

Couldn't agree more, Gyno. Starting pitching in my mind is the only question mark. although a very big one. rain has held off so far today, will keep you all updated.

I'm on the Rangers tonight

Holland looked pretty good in the preseason, and finished well out of the bullpen last year. Meanwhile, Bedard hasn't started a game since July 2009. (He had surgery and sat out 2010). Rangers bats have started out on fire and could make a difficult comeback start for Bedard. Also, throw in Seattle had to travel from Oakland yesterday - maybe a little tired. Gutierrez out - Seattle's biggest bat in a weak offense. Aardsma out as well - Seattle's closer.

In my opinion, this is a good spot for a Texas win.

Texas -155

Weather still holding off here in NY, and it's fairly warm, 60 degrees. Regarding the total of the game, which i didn't touch on, Metfan pointed out Twins bats should get healthy tonight, Yanks bats are white hot and should do some damage tonight, the winds will be howling as usual at the house that George built. Over 10 is a small play for me and the Yanks for the game as mentioned above. BOL tonight everyone.
