The Yankees have CC and no other studs. Red Sox have a #5 in Matsuzaka that I think is way better than anyone the Yankees have as a #2. Boston is loaded with starters and the Yankees have big issues there.

jake, you are on crack dude, stick to fantasy sports..... dice k is MUCH BETTER than anything the yankees have? please......

CC > Lester
Burnett > Lacket
Hughes = Bucholz
Nova < Beckett
Garcia > Dice K

nova is the only loser here out of the rankings and he may very well have a better year than beckett...a young top prospect who throws 99 and a nasty slider and curve, did you see any of his games last year? or this spring? 30innings in spring 1.80 era.....last year he didnt give up a run in the first 4 innings of games, he gave up the runs later in the game 5th 6th when he got tired, he was in AAA all year... ill wager with you nova has better numbers than the sox 4th OR 5th starters this year and i am very positive in that.. watch burnett this year and i bet you he puts up numbers much better than lackey, garcia is >>>>> dice k look at their numbers in their career, last year, and this spring and tell me im wrong... and yankees bullpen >>>>> sox pen

2nd of all yankees do not have big issues there, i know i know 3 games into the year but sox starters have all been mashed so far, i know its 3 games but its 3 very very bad games for lackey and lester... and i promise you the yankees will get a big name SP at the deadline and sox will get no one...so a carpenter, maybe king felix but i doubt it, wandy, saunders, etc etc they will pick up an arm at the deadline its already been stated by cashman...so please go back to fantasy sports if you are gonna compare numbers and past careers and not look at stuff or talent... thanks

Beckett is Burnett without the command issues. They both have big fastballs with movement and nice curves. Beckett is better at locating/masking his change.

Hughes is okay but isn't a dominant starter by any means. He's a 4.10 ERA guy that will get outs but won't ever win a Cy Young. Lackey is about what Hughes is... he has better command but not quite as much on his fastball.

Lester has 3 killer pitches that he commands, while Buchholz has more "stuff" than any of the names on this list. The guy has throws heat with a stud curve, a change that is damn near impossible to tell is coming, and an above average slider. One bad start does not a season make and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if he out-pitches Sabathia.

Go ahead and trust Nova if you want but he doesn't have the other pitches to go with his fastball.

Matsuzaka needs to have his head on straight but is a top-end starter when he can locate his change. He's been dinged the last few years and hasn't been in any rhythm, but he finished spring strong and should have a big year. You can trust Garcia all you want but his ERA was around 5.00 in spring ball and 4.64 last season. He can't stay healthy and hasn't looked good since 2005. Not a guy I'm trusting at all...

I also don't see what mid-season moves have to do with anything since I was talking about current rotations.

White Sox will finish top 5. ESPECIALLY with the rotations and bullpens in the AL Central.

do you watch the sport????? hughes pitched 86 innings the year before as a RELIEVER...last year he pitched 186 as a STARTER at age 23, you really wanna compare an 18 game winner at age 23 who had an innings jump of 100 to lackey?????

but if you wanna do that argument im down, go for it.. hughes = lackey.. but you have to give cc the edge over lester, he is way more proven, he went 21-7 last year with a 3.1 era, when lester doesnt have his stuff he gets hit and hit hard and cant stay in the game, if cc doesnt have his stuff he will grind for 6 innings at least and get through the game to give his chance for a W, dont go by fantasy stats here...

so for arguement sake ...

CC > lester
Hughes = Lackey
Burnett = beckett (that i agree with both are shaky but can be dominant remember that 1-0 game 2 years ago? where they mathced 0s the entire game till a walk off byy arod)
Nova > lackey upside here and lackey is just not very good anymore, nova has the stuff to be a future #2
Garcia > dice k i do not care what you say!!

Boston has all kinds of problems. I knew that rotation was shaky. And their offense isnt doing anything and paps has already given up a run.

Buy some Yanks to win the AL east while the price is still decent

Just saw this at Rotoworld and figured I might as well add it.

Yankees pitching coach Larry Rothschild is concerned with Phil Hughes' drop in velocity.

Hughes had a rough outing against the Tigers on Sunday, allowing four hits, five runs and two homers in just four innings. His fastball sat between 89-90 MPH. "There's going to be concern until you see it," Rothschild said. "That's just natural. ... When you get going and you start to see the velocity, then you can relax a little bit. But until then, we'll try to figure out if there's any routine that works for him." Hughes' velocity was also in question during a so-so spring. He'll have to figure things out
