I am sorrry if this has beeen brought up in the past. I am fasinated with the idea that there are everyday people, people that have jobs, families, etc. and wager large amounts on sporting events. One that comes to mind is Old Man Ted, who on occasion claims to wager $5,000 on a single play. I believe him and that there are numerous other people that do this. I wonder how a person goes from wagering $100 to $200 a rattle to playing nickels and dimes. I hardly believe these people have the bankrolls to play this way or the jobs to support this type of wagering.

Oh, I am guessing that everyone that has gotten hot wondered, what if I would have played $500 instead of $100 during said hot streak. +4.50 units could be $2,250 instead of $450. Is it just balls?

not sure how people move up maybe the rush from winning 100$ plays don't work and they want to sweat the bigger $$.... I know I could never move from $25-50 bets... If ted says it I believe him he has been around a long time and has always been honest...

everybody has a different bankroll, if someone makes 500,000 a year why would they bet 100?? that is worthless and just a waste of time.
if you make 30,000 would betting 5$ be excitng??

Most people who bet big do this as their job and don't have families.

Nothing to do with "balls" and everything to do with the edge you have at that price and how % of your current bankroll you should bet on that edge.

You move up when you have the bankroll, and vice versa. If you only have 5K to spend you're likely betting $50-100 a game unless you over bet your edge. If you won a grand yesterday, you have 6K and up your units to $60-120 and so on.

im not rich at all but am comfortable and a couple of my friends and I flip to see who gets the ace of spades for 20, 50 or 100 $ a hand, when we play 20's we reach in our pockets and peel off the elastic laughing but when its 100 a hand you get a rush and dont want to keep taking off the elastic, you can lose 10 straight easily and in a mater of minutes.

Nope - it's called Chasing and MANY of us here have done it.

I have had 3 very, very large wagers I've placed. The first one was on a football game - favorite that lost outright. I was laying a few points. I had just gotten a large bonus check and was willing to lose. The second wager was me chasing. I had lost small, then medium, then large. I chased with extra large. That wasn't a good week - was a terrible week. Third extra extra large wager was when I was + money and had a ridiculous week - I just about went perfect. Put the wager in on two moneyline dogs in baseball. Both dogs won outright and I had one silly large payout that week. That was my best hit by far.

I've chased many a times with Large wagers. Now, for the most part I'm done with the chase - just doing small and medium, then large when I'm up.

True, but I have seen at casino's- the rich, stars, and celebrities playing blackjack at $5-$25 a hand. And all the regulars speaking to themselves about how can they bet so low if they have so much money, lol.

Keep in mind it's the internet. This is a place where we can multiply by 3 and still not have the 12 inch wang we talk about. Not saying we're not all 6'4" multi-millionaires married to gorgeous models, just saying I probably wouldn't believe everything you read. Many of the guys betting $5000 probably forget the period in the middle.

Ehh i dont think a mod with over 30k posts that is one of the most respected members of this forum would lie about how much he wagers...

Are you in the right thread? I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about, from what I saw he was talking about people making 5k bets.

Oh okay, just read closer in the thread instead of just the first post. I was just speaking on general terms about the internet, chicks lose 20 pounds when they boot up, dudes gain 3 inches on their cock. I have no idea what Ted bets and my post wasn't directed to him, hope somebody notices you came to the rescue though, you can never have too many brownie points.

Not to be a jerk or to show disrespect to the original poster or anyone else for that matter............

But there are a lot of us who do wager nickel, dime, or more on a game(s) and it's just what we do.

Not everyone is a small time $20 a game player or degenerate playing $25 free test accounts at
Bet Phoenix/Etc. Everyone rolls different in this industry/hobby/profession.

Instead of concerning yourself with what others are wagering or not wagering just focus on your own bank roll!!!!!!!
