Red Sox/Indians Over 8.5 +100
Pitchers: Lester/Carmona

Carmona looked like crap in his first start and didn't have a good spring. Lester always gets off to slow starts and the Indians seem to be hitting the ball well for the time being. 8.5 seems low even though Boston hasn't started hitting yet. They have a veteran club and should draw plenty of walks against the always wild Carmona.

Toronto Blue Jays -117
Pitchers: Cahill/Romero

I know Oakland is hitting lefties well but Romero is ready for a big rebound season and he pitched great in his opener. Cahill is a talented pitcher but due for a regression and was killed by Toronto the last two times he's gone up against them. Blue Jays don't have Jose Bautista but still pack a nice lineup.

New York Yankees -140
Pitchers: Burnett/Liriano

Burnett actually looked good in his debut and he was solid against the Twins last season despite all his struggles. Minnesota isn't hitting and the Yankees have a killer lineup. Liriano's velocity is way down right now and he's going to get rocked.

Milwaukee Brewers -102
Pitchers: Hanson/Marcum

Hanson is coming back from a back injury and didn't look like he was ready for the season in his opener. Marcum is in the same boat in a way but he looked good enough in the spring to convince me that his iffy start was caused more by facing the red-hot Reds and less by not being ready. I'm getting the home team with what I think is the more ready pitcher at even money. Oh yeah I trust Milwaukee's offense more as well.

Haven't got to that one yet. On the last 4. We'll see if I'll lay the juice.

love the yanks play but as you know i dont play my yanks due to jinx... but i would lean on the tomorrow too, yanks hit liriano pretty well in the past except 1 outing last year where he dominated them but they have seen him enough to pound him...and i like the sox over pick but when are the sox gonna break out of their hitting woes? it has to be against carmona---goodluck

Jake, how do you feel about the Rays (-103) getting their first W tomorrow with Price on the mound? I know the White Sox are hitting well and the Rays are not but the White Sox bullpen has been getting a lot of work since the season started especially over the past 2 days. I feel like Jackson is going to have to give the White Sox 7 solid innings just to keep them in it this one.

Chicago White Sox -112
White Sox/Rays Under 8.5 -115

Pitchers: Jackson/Price

Price is a stud but is going against a hot lineup that will get a few runs. Edwin Jackson dominated the Rays last year and Tampa can't hit to save their lives. This one looks like a typical 4-1 White Sox win.

Marlins/Nationals Under 7.5 -120
Pitchers: Johnson/Lannan

Johnson answered my questions about being injured in the opener and he's likely to throw a gem against the Nats. Lannan sometimes lets too many guys on but the guy is an excellent pitcher when healthy. Florida is hitting and I think they'll take a 2-1 win if the bullpens don't completely screw me.

NOTE: I'm pissed off for not handicapping these earlier. I missed out on +205 on the Mets. I'm thinking about the current +183 but I lost a lot of value.

NOTE: Also pissed off that I missed the Nats at +190. Not taking +177. I need to cap earlier so I can hit openers and maximize value.

I don't know that the Red Sox will necessarily start to hit better against Carmona, but what I do expect is for the Boston hits to count because the guy will have walked 2 batters before the hit. A veteran lineup like Boston should be able to be patient and make this guy leave early.

I considered it but the White Sox, at home, throwing out a guy as good as Edwin, against a Tampa team that can't buy a hit... I just don't see it. I think Price keeps em in the game for a bit but the White Sox should get the win.
