So living in Hawaii there aren't that many places to buy certain appliances. Apparantly, range hoods (island style) are one of them.

Anyways, I went to a bunch of places (Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy, Sears, etc.) and no one carries them. Even the high end place said they need to be ordered.

So I ended up buying a cheaper one from Sears that looks nice and should get the job done. I purchased this during a friends/family sale and it was bought sometime in the last two weeks of February. To my shock it was scheduled for delivery on April 9th (today). I was mad but what can I do about it? I said fine and waited.

Earlier this week I get a call saying that it is delayed and they will let me know when they have more information. whatever.

Today (actual scheduled delivery date), i get another message saying they still don't know when and won't know until Tuesday (earliest) and the actual delivery is AT LEAST 2 weeks away.

What do I do here? sit back like a loser and wait? It is probably not even Sears' fault but I'm the one suffering.

Didn't call them yet but had an automated call today saying the item will be shipped on April 30, 2011. They will let me know when delivery is expected. I assume at least 2 weeks after....this will be messed up if it takes sears 3 months to deliver something "in stock".

I would do what Gravy said. can't think of a reason they wouldn't do something for you.

talked to cust service dept....to their credit they tried really hard to see what is going on.....all they did really was leave voicemails on local distributors and gave them my information.....bleh...

when I find out what is going on I will call the cust care again and start yelling at them like Wilheim will yell at the Rio staff if he doesn't get a moderator suite!

Dear shdw01,

I want to apologize for the delayed response to your delivery situation as I just came across your post. I can certainly understand the frustration you must be feeling after being promised multiple dates for the delivery of your range hood. In most cases the dates we give our customers are based off the expected ship date from the manufacturer. If the product is not available on the expected date this can cause delays on delivery to our customers. This is not an excuse as to what happened in your situation but may explain what is happening with your range hood. We would like to assist you in any way possible to make sure that your range hood is delivered and that you are satisfied with the product. My name is Laura and I’m part of the Sears Cares Escalations team. At your convenience, please contact my office via email at smsupport@searshc.com so you don’t have to continue to be frustrated by this. In the email, please provide a contact phone number and the phone number the range hood was purchased under (if different than the contact phone number)and we will call you directly. Also, in your email, please provide the screen name (shdw01) you used to post on this site, for reference to your issue, and we do look forward to talking to you soon.

Thank you,
Laura D.
