ROYALS 6 TIGERS 6
This game has runs written all over it. Neither pitcher has done anything this year, or anything in this situation the last year. First lets look at the bats. The Tigers are hitting a lofty .333 at home while the Royals are hitting a very impressive .306 on the road. That's why the Tigers are averaging 10.3 rpg their last 3 as their bats have finally come alive. On the year, they are 5-2 to the OVER.
Porcello gets the nod for the Tigers. In his lone start he allowed 5 runs in 5 innings while allowing 2 base runners per inning. That is not the way to get the job done. In his last start to the Royals at home he allowed 5 runs and 12 hits in just 5 innings. His counterpart doesn't have any better numbers. Hochevar in his 2 starts this year has been tagged for 10 runs in 12 innings while surrendering 16 hits and 3 HR's.
But it truly is not the starters that have me excited about this over play. Both pens are extremely over used and that spells trouble. Tired arms and most importantly, both teams will be going to their young relievers who are in the show just to mop up. That spells trouble for the defence.
Fatigued relievers, 2 starters who are struggling and 2 hot offenses spell a nice OVER play as my play of the day Sunday!
