With the difficulty of moving money it has to be taking its toll on most books, even the big boys.

It will be in the same place as it is Now.
Just hope that it gets better.

Assuming there are no changes in US laws, IMO off shore will be even bigger a year from now. People WANT to gamble.

Now if states start to make it ok to bet on line, off shore will be DEAD.

Things are getting ready to get VERY good for the player over the course of the next few years IMO.

Well, if the past 12 months are any indication, it will not get any better for the USA punter in several aspects.....

1. Banking issues
2. Corruption within the industry
3. Sportsbooks no longer serving USA(Matchbook prime example)

I'm sure BIGBET will agree.

geez, things are way better than they were 10 years ago when I had to call in all my stupid bets and I was getting 20 cent lines with one bookie Bowmans.

it's not that hard to move money: many have book to book transfers.

For large players I could see it being an issue...for the smaller guys I think it will be business as usual. Of course things could get a lot better or a lot worse.

Well, Wash DC just had a law passed that allowed On-Line gambling - think mainly poker. That's the first start.

Next step is somewhere, somehow an exchange gets legalized in Horses.

Who knows from there.

Literally with each passing day/month

1) Creative money and computer mgrs are creating new ways to successfully move money between countries without undue impedence

2) Corruption can never be stopped, but the increase in options from legit operators will provide players with a reduced concern for those operators who are unscupulous

3) Legit sportsbooks serving USA players will continue to be on the rise because that (the USA) is from where the bulk of the accessible money emanates

The U.S. Treasury Dept has just announced a reduction in funding for collection agents. So not only is it becoming less likely that income tax can be reliably collected, it is even moreso that international money movement in the $10,000 or less range can be tracked, much less impeded.

IMO the % of people that currently play offshore and will stop due to future difficulties of moving money is very tiny. It isn't the easiest thing now and degens are degens.

however the % of people that would join the offshore world if things got easier and legal is tremendous. So i'm basically looking at it from the entirely opposite point of view.....very little chance it drops and huge upside if things change

In 12 months all will be in the hands of Pinnacle and what little of the offshore U.S. facing post up world thats left, is because they were allowed to and will be serving primarily as secondary market makers in the world wide gaming exchange world we now live in. Many may choose to leave voluntarily because 97 percent of the US market will go to Pinnacle, leaving them nothing.

In addition the offshore fourms are going away as you know them.

While I know the offshore market is huge, there are still average Joe's everywhere who want to gamble and do not because A)the illegality of it and B)the assumption that if they bring a check, from one of these offshore places, into their bank and will get either nasty looks or a whole bunch of red flags.

I literally know 50-100 people who like to gamble but B is what's holding them back. What does the offshore market tell those people? That's cash left on the table, imo.

If there's ever been and going to be an opportunity to get online gambling legalized, it's right with Obama as he is as open-minded a president we are gonna see.

If only some of the more higher up & important people could plant a bug in his ear, I honestly believe he would look into pushing it through after he's informed of how much money the govt. could be bringing in off of it.

Especially now with his new recent ideas on wanting to slash costs to reduce the national deficit...

Never, ever had a problem with a check at my bank. Do people no longer have a relationship with their bank anymore? If they don't call you by name when you come in you should be banking somewhere else IMO...
