The Los Angeles Dodgers will rely on its ace to try and slow down the St. Louis Cardinals in the third game of a four-game set at Dodger Stadium Saturday night

"It is indicative of the type of offense that we are capable of having," said Lance Berkman. "It is historic. It is nice and we will try and extend it as long as we can, but we realize we have a lot of games to play." Spanning the past five games, Berkman has six home runs in his last 19 at-bats. In their five games since Monday, the Cardinals have hit 13 homers and scored 51 runs. St. Louis is 55-53 against left-handed starters the past three years.

The converted reliever has posted a 1.69 ERA in those outings against Los Angeles, including three scoreless innings on the road. McClellan has compiled a 3-8 record and 3.56 ERA in 106 career appearances (one start) on the road in his career, allowing batters to hit for a .269 average. Interestingly enough, the right-hander is allowing lefties to hit just .217 against him, while right-handed batters are hitting for a .381 average.
