I was suprised living in a shitty city like Las Vegas how good the public library is. I look at reviews from Amazon and then go to the online public library website to see if they carry it. They usually do.

Living in New York shouldn't be a problem for you.

Where I live, my library is part of a "Suburban Library Cooperative". they call it. My city's library is part of , I believe 29 other library's in my county. If I want to check out a book, I log on and it will search all 29 library's and 9 times out of 10, one of those will have the book i'm looking for. If it's not at MY library, within a couple days they will send it to mine and they will call me to tell me my book/s have arrived. Free of charge. Coolest thing ever. This is my library's e-site http://catalog.libcoop.net/uhtbin/cgisirsi/U6O8WOFTED/FRA/258250156/60/1167/X. I'm pretty sure my county isn't the only one that has this.
