Record: 19-30 -11.99

Just to illustrate how fickle the sport can be, I've lost 3 straight run line bets where the average was around -1.5 +150. All 3 had 4 or 5 run leads after the 5th inning. Had those 3 hits instead of me getting dicked over, I'd be close to even. Okay, my bitching is over for now. Picks coming shortly.

Arizona Diamondbacks +118
Pitchers: Hudson/Leake

The Reds are simply not hitting and Hudson doesn't give up home runs which is how Cincy tends to score in their tiny park. Leake will have a better outing than when Arizona rocked him a week ago, but I'd still bank on the Diamondbacks' hot bats putting up more runs here.

St. Louis Cardinals -1.5 +130
Pitchers: Lohse/Gorzellany

Lohse has really picked it up and Washington isn't going to hit much this series without Zimmerman. Gorzellany is nothing special and the Cardinals have hot bats. 10 bucks says the Cards get up 10-0 and then give up 9 runs in the last inning to continue the non-lubed screwfest I've had to endure this season.

Cards up 5-0 with only 1 inning left for the Nats to screw me. What are the odds they do it? +100.

And they hold on. After Lohse hit the leadoff guy I almost cried.

Sorry no time for writeups. Had to make an unexpected errand and the games are starting in 5-10 minutes.

LA Angels +141
Pitchers: Chatwood/Beckett

Beckett has been throwing great his last two starts but the Angels always get some runs against him and are averaging close to 10 hits a game this year. They should get 3-5 runs here and that could be enough. Boston still has some holes in their lineup thanks to guys not performing and the Red Sox haven't shown they can hit outside of Fenway. This will be the first time they see Chatwood and the youngster should give his team a chance to win at home. Chatwood likely won't have lasting success since he's so unpolished, but I think he has at least a few more games before teams starting figuring out his stuff.

Oakland Athletics +135
Pitchers: McCarthy/Felix

The A's aren't hitting and Felix is likely to have a good game despite getting his more than normal in his last two. I'm okay with that. The fact of the matter is that Seattle can't hit anyone and McCarthy is also likely to dominate. I'll gladly take a pitcher likely to dominate when the other team's bullpen has an ERA at almost 7.00.

A's lose 1-0 despite having close to double the baserunners. Angels lose in extra innings. What else is new. Still can't catch a damn break on these close ones.
