I'm watching this White Sox game on MLBtv because I picked up Gavin Floyd from the scrap heap to replace Hughes in my FBL.

I grew up as a kid listening to Rizzuto, I heard T-Mac wave the pom-poms for the Mets, but this Harrelson has got to be the all time biggest homer announcer ever.

Bigger than Johnny Most in Boston, or Chick Hearn in Laker land.

This "don't stop now boys" nonsense is nauseating, and I'm rotting for the same side as he is.

He tried to pick up my mom back when he was with the Indians way back. I want to shove a meat fork up his butt

I want to stab my ear drums with a bic pen.

I'm a Yankee fan, I'm stuck with Michael Kay, who I can't stand, but this jabroni makes Kay sound like a song bird.

Count me in as another Yankee fan who finds Michael Kay annoying. I wish Singleton was the full-time play by play guy and they'd rotate Cone, O'Neil, and whoever else. I used to really enjoy Jim Kaat when he was on the crew, and I wish he'd come back.

Jim Kaat was as good as it got.
The best three analysts (not play by play guys) I ever heard were, Kaat, Jerry Remy, and Tony Kubek.

Singleton is terrific as well.

Here's the thing with John Sterling, yes he's a big time homer as well, but he amuses me.
Kay is just self serving.

As a New Yorker I cant listen to my home team on on the air or radio . Michael Kay could annoy a dead cat on TV . And the radio is John Sterling / Susan Waldon .
Both are complete asses . .............

BillHill .........you remember what W W stood for on the scooters score card ? ..............when Bill White would ask him about a play and he would check his score card , he would say ut oh ....W W written down .......... Wasn't Watching ! ........,he was the best .

I personally can't stand the guy worse than any other commentator in all of sports. "Biggest homer announcer" hits the nail on the head. Even when I have money on the WSox, I can't stand listening to him.

With that being said, he is a God in the Southside - they love him down there

I am actually a White Sox fan from the South Side and Hawk Harrelson is absolutely ridiculous. He says the same things over and over again.
-"Don't Stop Now Boyssss"
-"That's a cookie"
- (on a 2-0 count) "He's in the cat-bird seat"
-"That's a hang wiff em" which in Hawk speak is a line drive that hangs up long enough to get caught...

Anyways, he is getting older and senile, I actually have to turn some games off bc he is so annoying. And like everyone said, Ultimate Homer. He'll let you know when the umps are out to get us and he sometimes gets so upset that he cusses on live TV. Just thought I let you know my 2 sense.

Hawk Harrelson: Fashion Plate
WSCR-AM evening host Laurence Holmes tweeted this photo of White Sox television announcer Ken "Hawk" Harrelson styling and profiling like Urge Overkill in the best fashions 1968 had to offer.
1968 was a career year for the lifetime .239 hitter. Harrelson banged out 35 home runs and 109 RBI for the Boston Red Sox and finished third in American League MVP voting behind Detroit Tigers pitcher Denny McLain, the last pitcher in Major League Baseball to win 30 games.
Can you imagine Harrelson and Red Sox legend Carl Yastrzemski hitting the town after a rough day of work at Fenway Park in matching suits and medallions, picking up townies?

Steve Stone makes up for Hawk. The worst announcers, and it's not close, are Buck Martinez and Pat Tabler for the Jays. Martinez will say something like this," Aaron Hill isn't very fast but he makes up for it with his speed". Chip Caray makes me sicker than Hawk ever could . Caray sounds like he's calling a circus.

This is Vin Scully:
"The Astros come in with five players whose last name begins with the letter "B". So, as the series gets underway a beehive of Astros take the field".

The broad who does Yankees games is the worst of all time. Think she may do radio. As a sidebar, I like Yanks and the chalk tonight.

CHICAGO — White Sox broadcaster Ken “Hawk” Harrelson, a colorful character known for his folksy sayings and unbridled enthusiasm for his longtime team, will retire after working 20 games next year in his 34th season in the booth.
The 75-year-old Harrelson, who also was an announcer for the Yankees, played in the majors for nine seasons with four teams and served as Chicago’s general manager for a short time. He will work primarily Sunday home dates in 2018. After he finishes his TV duties, he will serve as a team ambassador for the 2019 season.
“There’s not a better organization in baseball than the Chicago White Sox,” Harrelson said before Chicago’s 4-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night. “It’s just that simple. You can tie us but you can’t beat us. To be in the situation I’ve been in, I’ve been blessed to have been in this situation for all these years. Do the math. Go figure.”
Harrelson began his broadcasting career with the Red Sox in 1975. He moved to Chicago in 1982, partnering with Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale. After stints as the White Sox GM and broadcast work with the Yankees and NBC, he returned to the White Sox booth in 1990.
During the 1987–1988 seasons, Harrelson was the play-by-play man for New York Yankees games on SportsChannel New York.
Harrelson’s long tenure with the White Sox has produced several beloved sayings on the South Side of Chicago. There is “You Can Put It On the Board, Yes!” for White Sox home runs, and “He Gone” after a White Sox pitcher gets a strikeout. “Mercy” also is used frequently.

The White Sox gave out a Hawk Harrelson alarm clock with some of his sayings for a home game this year, and it was one of their most popular promotions of the season.
“There will never be another personality in the booth quite like Hawk Harrelson,” White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf said in a release.
