SIA has this progressive Royal at the Coliseum Video Poker site that has kept on climbing for a long time. I swear I must have deposited about 3 grand trying to hit this thing. The joke of it is, NO ONE seemed to be playing it besides me. I would keep on watching the jackpot, and if I didn't play it, the jackpot never rose a penny!
So tonight when I logged on while playing in a SIA Omaha Hi/Lo tournament, I was surprised to see that instead of being a $1 minimum bet, it was reduced to .20c!
Somehow the jackpot was still at over 10,500. I emailed them to ask them what was going on, but never got an answer. So what the heck, I would play it for the $1 max instead of the $5 max, and if I hit it and didn't get paid off, I would have a legit beef.
When I got knocked out of the Omaha tourney, I put all my attention to trying to hit the Royal.. I started with $318, and was down to $240 when I got dealt the Ac-10c. I hit the deal button and never saw any cards dealt. What happened next was amazing. A box appeared that said I had won the $10,588 jackpot!!@)
I couldn't believe it! I clicked on the box and sure enough, the Qc-Jc-Kc appeared in the middle of the screen!! I clicked on the "COLLECT" BUTTON, and sure enough I had $10,790 in credits on the screen.
Somehow, I feel that SIA really wanted me to win the jackpot due to all the money that I had plowed into this game. Or maybe it was just a matter of playing so many hands that I was finally "due" to hit this jackpot. I'll never understand why they reduced the minimum bet to .20c from $1, but I'm not complaining.
Just in time for my April 30th trip to Vegas for a Sam's Town slot tournament and then on to the Silverton for who knows how long!!
