When I lived in Portland, We would always stay at the Barbary Coast. Rooms were very nice and for about 15 years, I never paid for any of my stays there. Linda Lewis was the Casino Host there and She was great. They had a great Sportsbook with very friendly futures. They had the best steak house in town with Michaels. Their video poker was also very nice with 9/6 Jacks or better all around the bar and the Royals paid $ 1199. plus another $ 50 coupon that was paid on the side so you didn't have to sign a irs slip. Harrahs took over and the value is gone. It's still a nice place to stay and the best location on the Strip. Don't overlook Drai's all night Club for about the best eye Candy in town !Barbary Coast/Bills Gambling Hall
Decent value right in the middle of the action of the Strip. Room rates are very reasonable and the rooms are surprisingly very nice.
I might be in the minority, but I like the ambience of the sportsbook. Most of the ticket writers are real cool. Ernie is a great dude.
I like that I can get a seat there every Saturday or Sunday, just 15 minutes before kickoff. The room is small and all of the flatscreen TVs are right there in front of you.
Most are VERY liberal with the drink tickets if you know how to work the system. Plus, there is a bar right there where you can go get a free drink with the ticket. Sometimes the waitresses might be a little slow. So its good to be able to go grab one when you are thirsty.
The lines? They are Harrahs lines. Crappy futures and all that. But you can find value on the daily lines anywhere if you are smart and look hard enough.
Orleans.
Best value IMO. Great cocktail waitresses to boot....

Simply taking everything into account.........you can have only one #1
Since I'm into value, I'd choose the Fiesta in Henderson. They have 100% + video poker in all types of games. They even have nickel video pokler at over 100 % + pay schedule for your small players just killing time. They have a nice newer movie theater, Live keno for my wife and her Sisters and Mother, Great steak house for dining, Easy access right off the freeway with parking garage right next to the Casino, Decent Sportsbook but futures suck of course because their lines are Stations. Don't overlook all their great comps and drawings etc.
Orleans (West Vegas)... 1
