I usually give a buck or two if they have a tip jar. Depends on the place though.

If I order at a chain like Olive Garden or PF Changs or something then I will tip $3 or something just because I save money in the long run by not ordering drinks and some waitress is taking time out of her day from servicing a full tip table to ring up and package up my shit.

curbside or carryout, no tip unless it was a crazy complicated order, and then 10% tops (unless they offer to come to my house and serve it to me with china and silverware, refill my drinks and clean it all up do the dishes and change the tablecloth)

fast food no

fast food with tip jar??? really come on, no no no

sit down (drive in too), 15% to 20% for good to excellent... 10% if poor.

pizza delivery (min tip $3) or 20% of bill

weddings, no tip for wait staff. and $1 per round for bartenders.

Almost never on carry out. I remember the days way back when, you didn't tip at all for counter service.

Don't order take out, but I don't see a need to tip them just to get your order and ring you up. No different than going to McDonalds and I don't tip the cashier there.

I don't.

I don't expect customers to tip my employees for holding open doors, or carrying out large items to their cars... Tips to me are for people who are strictly working for them - not those who get paid a regular wage and are just doing their jobs - bartenders back east, who earn less than minimum wage, servers, doormen if they do something other than opening a door, food delivery drivers... these folks get tips.

I just think a place like TGIF where a waitress is taking your order, Bagging it up, etc. should get a Tip of some kind.

That same Waitress could be making a Real Tip waiting on a Table of 4

Most of you would be astonished at the improvement in your own personal finances if you were to increase the frequency and amount you tip people who provide you with any kind of service
