I guess as long as you don't mind Apple ( or Who ever ) Tracks your Every Move
Go with the Ipad

I go everywhere with my Laptop, but thinking of just getting a better Smartphone
to check on the web or wager. ( then again, I can also Call my plays in )

I would have gotten the Ipad myself, but not to crazy on this tracking thing.

Will also add, the Ipad is Very Slim compared to a Laptop

a few friends have it, and it looks like nothing to carry around.

if you want to look cool go /w the ipad, but in terms of functionality i would think a laptop/netbook would be better... actual keyboard so typing is the same as it ever was, the software is more configurable and can be personalized more (ie, you're not stuck with iOS), can be hooked up to more accessories (printers, scanners, whatever).

however, as BAS said, the iPad is VERY thin, and gets about 6hrs of battery life if pushed hard, which is really amazing.

do NOT get an intel celeron.............you think "I will just use it for xyz " but eventually you are going to want to run 3 applications, perhaps watch a video while you have skype/messenger and other things running.....and then it will be slow as molasses

The wifi only iPad doesn't have GPS, for what that's worth.

Mine gets closer to 10 hours battery life than 6 in real world use.

I love my iPad. I could give 2 shits if they want to track me. In fact they can follow me around all day and see I do nothing.....

yea, I can't see basing your decision on the tracking issue - who cares if Apple knows where you are...? It's Apple. They're too busy counting your money to give a care.

use the $500 for a laptop that will fit all your needs and more. A 300 dollar one is really barebones and quite a nuisance.

Just seems an IPAD would be more adaquate at the bar.....no?

Plus, like the long battery life feature and smallness.

Go to Wally world and look at a $250 dollar netbook.

99.99% of what you use a pewter for is to place wagers, e-mail, and post on message boards. A netbook will do that with ease, and you have a REAL KEYBOARD, which is a big deal.View attachment 12135
