Cardinals take a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the 9th and then manage to lose 6-5. Ugly!

Franklin didn't even pitch. Mitchell Boggs is the new closer and took the loss with a bad outing.

There could be a St. Louis Cardinals comeback thread every night. I am updating this thread after they led 2-1 at home vs. Roy Halladay (June 21) and then used EVERY PITCHER IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE in the top of the 8th, an inning that lasted longer than the Holy Roman Empire. It's painful and ugly to watch................and they haven't even used Mitchell Boggs or Ryan Franklin......................................

Never mind.......................................it's now 7-2 and still the top of the 8th, which lasted over an hour.

With Pujols out this team will go into a free fall... They are not that good...He will be gone at least 2 months and by then they could be in 4th or 5th
