STL offensively still hitting well and grinding at the plate. Pujols still not dialed in yet either. They are collecting a ton of hits, leading MLB with a .297 average. That is after not scoring for the first week of the season, so they have really started hitting big time. The Cubs are 2nd at .280, 17 points back. Each guy is really fighting in each at bat, they have been fouling off a ton of pitches and working guys.

The bullpen I was pretty high on but in this Houston series they have been pretty awful. Franklin needs to go to AAA and see if he can still get outs. When our leftie Tallet comes off the DL I hope they do just that. Boggs had one bad night closing but even if he isn't the guy, he's a good arm and valuable. Motte and Salas have been great. Sanchez had been great but was pretty bad last night. I am still really high on Salas but I don't know if he's ready to close. I could see Motte being next in line if Boggs stumbles again. LHP Miller is having a very disappointing year as well. They have a lot to figure out in the pen, BUT the talent is there with Boggs, Motte, Salas and Sanchez all very young arms though.

I am watching totals right now and looking to play OVER while the bullpen struggles. Garcia's run may be slowing down and it may be time to fade him soon, Westbrook I think may start running off some qualities starts. Lohes/McClelland have been superb and Carp should be faded when given the chance, he's a fighter but his stuff has not been anywhere near what it has been in the past. GL 2 all.

Catcher Carlos Ruiz, who is in an 0-for-21 slump, sat out Tuesday night's game and was back in the lineup on Wednesday. After flying out to end the first inning, Ruiz came out of the game in lieu of Brian Schneider due to back stiffness. Ruiz said after the game that he was a little worried about the injury, which is causing some tingling from his back down his right leg and will have it checked by team doctors on Thursday when the team is in Philadelphia. Manager Charlie Manuel said he noticed Ruiz clutching at his back in the dugout during the middle of the inning and immediately lifted him.

NOW THAT'S A THREAD THAT WILL DRAW SOME VIEWS

METS/NATS..Like the Mets..Werth hasn't been hitting..if Capuano can pitch around Ramos, he should control the rest.Livian Hernandez has been off but his off speed stuff could throw off the mets agressive young lefties, davis, thole and the Murph..may play first 5 under esp with "UNDER UMP" Brian Runge behind the plate..Hernandez may have a field day.Runge's strike zone is bigger than J LO's ass.

BACK WITH THE REST LATER

Jon Lester goes tonight in a "stopper" roll from this mini 2 game losing streak the Sox are in. I have not bet them the last two games. I just wasn't sure how they were going to perform coming back to the east coast. I believe tonight is very different and the odds makers agree posting a ridiculous -180 out there. I think its the safest 180 you'll ever lay though. If your the type not to lay that juice then the run line which should be around -115 to -125 should be safe as well. We all know this for sure and that is Lester owns the Orioles.... A couple of paragraphs from their game preview:

The Orioles haven't won their first three meetings of a season with the Red Sox since taking the first four in 1967. If their history against Lester (2-1, 2.59 ERA) continues, they'll be hard-pressed to change that.

Lester is 13-0 with a 2.33 ERA over 16 career starts against Baltimore -- his highest win total versus any opponent, and the most wins without a loss by any active major league pitcher against any single club.

Lester went 0-1 with a 3.72 ERA in his first three outings of 2011, but has won his last two by limiting the opposition to one run over 12 innings while striking out 13.

Lester has always struggles in April but quickly comes out of it which he has alreay done this year. Love'm tonight!!!

I won the chase for the Rangers series but don't think I'll be playing today's game.

Toronto kills Texas for some reason. The Blue Jays took 7 out of 10 last season, and so far 2 out of 3 this season. Ogando is the better pitcher, but Toronto always kills the ball against us. I'm staying away from this one. Maybe a lean for the Blue Jays +1.5

Like the Tigers today (-110) with Penny on the mound. Really don't think they get swept at home by Seattle. Best of luck to everyone today!

that tiger lineup looks pretty pitiful. funny how just a couple of games can change your perspective. the mariner lineup looks stronger than the tigers! short price on pineda, i passed.

It just seems like Toronto always has Texas' number... I'm going to lay off. I think there are better spots to pick today - as you know, I'm all over your Yanks if it goes

Hit the OVER in the second Rays-Twins game. Swarazak is making his first start and might see alittle more work than he planned for giving the fact that the Twins bullpen is shot. Niemann brings his 7.08 ERA to the park tonight and the Twins got him for 3-runs last week. The Rays are hitting and scoring and the Twins should be able to get 3-4 across tonight. Good Luck.

Looks like you handicapped this correctly. Jim Reynolds was behind homeplate and he helped out the pitchers with his generous strikezone. I wish I saw your post earlier I woulda mentioned it. He's probably a top 3 under umpire.
BOL going forward

Dodgers report
SD throws Clayton Richard vs LA Friday. He's 4-0 against the Dodgers in 6 starts. He also has had a ton of success against Ethier who's only gone 1-13 vs Richard. 3 of 4 Dodger infielders are injured (Uribe might be ready to go) as well as their setup man (Kuo) and Broxton is questionable. Although Broxton not-pitching might help LA, it would still mean a man down in the pen. I'm not sure but the rookie Jerry Sands might be in LeftField w/ a lefty on the mound. This is a downgrade defensively but looks to be a better hitter than Gwynn jr.
LA throws Lilly who pitched decent in a rain delayed game vs SD earlier this year, but he did allow 9 baserunners in 4 1/3 innings and he got roughed up his last start in Wrigley
Im on the skidding Padres in this one with the plus money.
SD +115

LAD plays 4-4-2

Weather forecast is clear skys at Chavez, 64 degrees with 8 mph winds blowing in from left
