Tv and movie watching “How To" thread

I have decided to make this thread since today I received a pm that i had given a detailed answer to and wanted to help other members be able to watch movies and tv on computer plus have others give contributions.

Hope this helps and the original pm'er is ok with it.

I myself don't use that site so can't guarantee its safe.. but usually downloading divx is a requirement to run the shows... make sure you use the old version and never update. I watch movies and some shows on http://icefilms.info and watch my tv shows usually through http://www.watchseries-online.com/ or http://watchseries.eu/latest and i use the vidbux or vidxden links.. both require old version of divx you can get safely here

Thanks Murph, I have a Mac and I downloaded it but now I can't find an Icon or anything for it. Am I good to go, will it just pop up automatically when I go watch a flick

the link i gave before was for windows only.. i should have specified.. here is the MAC version 1.4 (dont update..same idea here)

once its installed, when u watch a divx film/show it should allow the program to run (in the web browser).. with firefox sometimes it will ask u to install the divx web player as well.. so do this if it asks.. other than that it should open/run on its own once a divx film/show is chosen.

yes everything is 100% free

they talked for a while of having VIP access (no wait times for download - which through the megaupload links is 45secs) but this never came into fruition and even if it did, they promised there would still be the layman free (wait 45 sec) version.

Ok..Im kind of new to this. So in icefilms, I downloaded the old Divx player, then I clicked on a movie and it just gives me details of the movie and runs and ad in two small screens. Do I need to sign up on site first, or is there a 'play' icon' that Im missing or something...not sure what to do next to get rolling

I use fastpassTV all the time....and it never asks me to download anything other than the movie. I use Firefox and suggest the same for all movie sites. It will block most viruses.

one last question...do i download the divx web player from divx inc, after i initially donloaded the divx player (which only took a few seconds)...or is this the add on that were not supposed to downlad?

ok there has been some question about what to do at icefilms.. i had forgotten that 2 years ago when i found the site I had set it up perfectly through firefox (u can also do it with google chrome and other browsers (read the forums on icefilms))

but here is what I did to allow me to stream hd/divx(dvd quality) movies

Download DIVX as instructed in post 1 of mine (or 2 if u have MAC)

here it is again if u missed it - divx windows - http://download.divx.com/divx/oldversions/DivXWebPlayerInstallerv15.exe
divx mac - http://download.divx.com/divx/oldversions/DivXWebPlayerMacv14.dmg

**IMPORTANT*** DO NOT UPDATE THESE.. it will ask u periodically when u use divx.. an update hinders most video playback

then put greasemonkey add-on to ur firefox or chrome browsers (this program allows user created scripts.. we are going to use one that icefilms created to allow megaupload videos to STREAM instead of download.

Go back to icefilms.. Click on a Megaupload link of the show u want to watch (i choose to open in new tab/window.. because watching right on the site means that chat box is down at the bottom (slows the speed of ur computer down).. so i open in new tab and then close that one i was in and watch in the new one (megauploads page)

Next Step -

Press play button (will take 45-1 min to load).. it will start to download the video (for streaming).. click pause.. and let it load for a few mins (i let it load for 10 so no interruptions for sure)

click play.. maximize and enjoy.. (one click of mouse will bring up the menu bar (shows fast forward.. rewind.. minimize.. etc)

ENJOY

As a bonus.. here is how I watch movies/tv through icefilms on my mobile.. works awesome on android because of flash. Iphone - hell no

You can also just download the movies or tv shows from the Megaupload links provided by icefilms and watch them in Windows Media Player or VLC or whatever media player you use. That way you don't have to mess around with installing the DivX player.

Yes this is one way to watch. Trust me though if you took the ten mins up to setup live streaming you would thank me.. no waiting for downloads and divx runs aviation files very HD friendly.

I mostly download my shows off of usenet using NewsLeecher. Takes about a minute or two per show. Sometimes I download off Megaupload. Their download speeds aren't bad for free users. After that I put everything on a flash drive and watch them on a DivX player hooked up to my big screen TV. I probably have 3 years worth of stuff to watch on that flash drive, lol. And since I've already downloaded everything, I can watch what I want when I want and don't have to mess with streaming.
