This article by this writer has really set me off. Who in gods name from the goverment told you this or did you hear say online poker is dead? There are more than a few things the ENTIRE POKER WORLD needs to get straight as well as anyone else whom does not like this so called "death of online poker that solves a lot of problems for the government at a variety of levels. "

It very certainly does. It exposes a zombie bank system in 14 different couintries that were due, thanks to the impending multiple sovreign defaults in the euro zone and iberian peniusla, to GO OUT OF BUISNESS ANYWAY. They only can go so long after a crash and it always stood to reason that these places have always been using shawdowey banking type places IN THE FIRST PLACE! The exact kind I believe since sept a number of the worlds central banks have had an active plan in place to shut that down in the first place. Due to issues like cross border cpaital out flows by citzens whom move money around in an effort to find stonger currency somehwere else and human trafficking to name but two.

So yes it solves the future problem of everyone crying out to the DOJ AND FEDS as to why they were not protected from this overseas meance whom had thier money in questionable finacial vehicles in recessionary times like these. How could you not know what was going on in the euro zone and beyond. WHERE WERE THE REGULATORS ALL WOULD HAVE SAID. HELP. Our money is gone!! And you would a got a big fat TOUGH SHIT you are an usecured creditor. Therefore not only is your money not our problem, but thats what you get for, like I said in this thread:

A Deeper look at the On Line Poker Crackdown.

"United States Citizens ARE NOT FREE TO FLOUT GAMBLING LAWS THEY DONT LIKE simply because they want to gamble on line at will and pontentialy make a profit.

Which leads to this:

They lied to banks about the true nature of their
business. Then, some of the defendants found banks willing to
flout the law for a fee. The defendants bet the house that they
could continue their scheme, and they lost."

Thats the death nell right there. Willing and active searching out of weak banks to continue an illegal criminal enterprise at the expense of the american people will not be tolerated.

Let me amended that to, At the expense of potential american tax dollars that may have been gained by working with these companies upfront. This is of course assuming that they would have turned themselves in as the first requisite of that as well as turn over all monies and asset that do not belong to the player. In the case of 3 out of 4 companies, your money is gone and so are your stars you idolized so much, HIDING GOD KNOWS WHO KNOWS WHERE RIGHT NOW.

Leaving you all to die a slow painful type of a death that I KNOW ALL TO WELL. 14 years worth of a bunch of I know all to well. Have a book coming out about it fact.

So THANK YOU, THE PRESIDENT OBAMA, THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF N.Y., THE FBI and all others involved. As a person whom cares about monetary policy period, you did a great thing with great timing.
You saved everyones summer big time. And in the case of Poker Stars whom do have legit and respected buisness people behind them, you got the american people thier money back in rapid fire order.

Hows it feel? Dont like it do you? No of course not. You were living vicariously through all the stars and hype. You were somebody, had a few things, could live a better lifestyle, drive a better car. You thought yourselves untouchable and invincible. Completly arrogant all the way, beacuse some tv cameras followed you around and to watch you play, talk and write about poker. Not anymore and not ever again like that. You did IT to yourselves.

TRY A suprise sneak onto the port authority bill, UIGEA MOVE THAT FORCES YOU TO BECOME A CAR SALESMAN FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND GET BACK TO ME. Among other things. We sat here counting down the days and about 85 percent home free when a completly weak and imcomptent Senator whoms name escapes me hired a NFL lobbiest of all things to get that law through and LOOKED MIGHTY RIGHTOUS IN THE PROCESS. Plenty of press to boot. 100 of billions of shareholder value in public gaming companies gone like that. Careers ruined before the 2 years before the crash no less. WHAT ABOUT YOU? HOW MUCH DID THE INDUSTRY LOSE THIS TIME? Where is the proud thumpng of the chest of old? I missed it somehow.

Tell me please one and all. I am so curios to know what you are going to do with yourselves now. HMMMM.

Back in the day we never even got so much as that considerate thought out of you. You got in leauge with the horse race lobby and did your best to stamp us out along with everyone else.

YOU TALKED ABOUT US LIKE DOGS AND SAID WHAT THEY TOLD YOU TO SAY AS THEY TOOK YOUR LOBBY MONEY. You got taken right to the end. Thought you were working on a few things and your big day was about to arrive. PSYCH. YOU GOT THE CLASSIC, MY SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF NY BUSTED.

They are very patient people and have excellent timing when it comes to bustin down this particular society. Been at it SINCE 1932 to be exact. SO QUIT YOUR CRYING, BITCHIN AND MOANIN WOULD YA!!

Now about that compliant above. Lets all take a walk in my shoes and lets see if you can see what I see?

Thanks to the poster Buddy Boy primarily I have read any number of complaints out of the SDNY and as they can tell you, I can not only write, speak and talk DOJ esse, I have been all kinds of the esse and so speak from the seat of what that esse looks like to me now vs back then.

1. I cant believe it. Not one mention of our favorite word nefarious. Or our favorite phrase "nefarious criminal underworld empire." I mean nothing. Not even nefarious criminal empire that sought to conspire, steal, as well as conceal in questionable financial intitutions worlwide the hard earned money of the american public. Now thats more like the DOJ I know. If they were really trying to kill internet poker they would have gone a lot further and been much meaner.

The secret to thier success is that they take it personally and thus attack back the same way. Very especially when things are flaunted and waved in thier faces like poker was for so long. Poker Stars maintained openly that they were not breaking any US LAWS. Others did too and AMERICANS TOOK IT FOR GRANTED IT WOULD NOT BE ABRUPTED LIKE THIS. I can think of a ton they could have gone off on and I can tell you for a fact, I cant pick up a shred of malice or contempt out of them for nothing. Amazing. They dont hide stuff what so ever. WHY exactly would they? A true sign of the times to me.

Mom and Dad went soft on me and I lived to see and tell about it. How very neat. I have gone from hating the SDNY with a passion to loving them to death inside of ten years AMAZING.

2. Such as announcing on Firday morning when the markets were still open for buisness over seas, where damage to gaming stock and companies would have been great due to panic and hysteria alone.

This of course would have been followed by multiple stern warnings and big stick swinging about not only will companies not do buisness with americans the DOJ does not approve of but we will remind the AMERICAN PEOPLE once again...... ....... ........ followed by a serious number of articles and death pronouncments for the industry and all.

I have not seen or heard nothing from anywhere period about we dont approve, its shut down, you cant play, no sneaky IRS "looking at" articles they love to drop. I mean nothing.

Yet all are at a wake with no body in site I can see. Crying because the DOJ wont let people bribe, lie or buy zombie banks in order to circumvent american law and way more importantly, disrespect the wishes of not only its citizens whom have legit concerns about the dangers of online gambling period, but its goverment that works hard to protect it as best it can in these trying economic times.

Online Poker in the USA is legal. When WashD.C. passed their law legalizing online poker Congress had some number of days to object and file objections. That day passed without a word. Therefore Congress had declared Online Poker legal in The US.

Last week the DOJ began negotiations and in at least 1 case agreed to allow poker sites to pay players thru the US Banking system......Hence making payments from online poker legal....you cant suspend a law for 1 day....the precedent has been set.

I believe a company could start tomorrow operating entirely in the U.S. as far as federal law is concerned.

The Law is whatever the DOJ says it is. Has never mattered whats on the books. No company or person of any ilk can do anything they say you cant do period.

As for suspending a law for one day. Are you ok? Who is it thats deciding for the poker world that all monies that may be recovered from an illegal money laudering opertion where the players tricked and lulled into a false sense of security, not only multiple banks in multipe countries, but the client base as well whom felt reasonably assured that in case of a bust that thier money was in a seprate safe account and that they would get thier money back eventually. By law this is STOLEN MONEY. The complaint mentions the defendants bragged about owneing SUN TRUST BANK In Utah. These defendants were using this "ILLEGAL BANK TO PROCESS MONEY PROCEEDS OBTAINED UNDER FALSE PRETENSES TO PREPUATE AN ILLEGAL WIRE TRANFER AND PAYMENT PROCESSER BUISNESS ON US SOIL"

The law very clearly provides for the people whoms money was stolen under false pretenses of any sort to have all monies THAT CAN BE RESONABLY RETRIEVED returned to them in a timely and orderly fashion.

Sugar Bear, when are you making your move to "sit in the chair" at Pinnacle (Goldman Sachs)? I'm much more interested in this than your endless rants about online poker. You are in agreement with the govt for going after the offshore poker companies and cutting off U.S. action, we get it already !<<)
