Safe walking around Downtown Nassau?

On our way from the airport to Atlantis last year it looked a bit run down.

Is it safe to cab/walk across the bridge into Nassau?

too far to walk- you have to cab. I would not be tripping around at night. Great restaurant in downtown Nassau you must try

Nice Menu they have.....damn that made me hungry for some Italian
