betallsports if u have this exact card (even if in bad shape) its still worth a few bucks.. if it is a genuine Gretzky rookie even fairly decent ones go for 80-100$ because they are genuine.. there has been thousands of reproductions that look EXACTLY like the card done so people pay a premium for a guaranteed real deal.

I have cards worth a lot more than $100 bucks.. so no big deal
and I hope they just go up as the years go by......
thought about going through them again, but it would take Weeks.....I have well over 10,000 cards from all sports.
These will go to my Grandkids, they can go through them when I'm gone.

i have a lot of cards too. I love collecting still to this day. Even if I find an out of shape mantle, if I have a spare 100$ or so I usually pick it up if I am in the market for it. Having a Mickey Mantle card to me is a great feeling.

people still buy 3s and 4's. nothing wrong with those for a set collector.
betall, your NUTS! id love to be in your position having a shit ton of cards worth a decent amount of money but not knowing the true value...id go out buy a bunch of card protectors and a beckett guide, grab a bunch of beers and just hunker down on a shitty rainy saturday/sunday and go thru everything cataloging and pricing them out...
all the new stuff is junk (last 20+ years) its the old stuff thats worth money....that gretzky is a nice card....
the one that sold was a psa 10
I like BAS's idea of passing the cards down.............tremendous gesture..........and just an all-around terrific idea.
Hats off to BAS
