R Mendenhall stepped on the third rail of USA public opinion by offering a contrary opinion into the face of the patriotic military yellow ribbons. 800 billion a year for ten years builds a strong self-interested political party (irony is the constituency votes against 'govt' spending while sucking down monthly US Govt pension checks). Sports talk shows are all over this story strong as a Salem Witch trial. Mendenhall actually might not be Satan's Pittsburg franchise. Maybe give him a chance?

not that i defend what he said...but how does a tweet or public statement play into who the "right" team is to win a sporting championship? usually, it's just the "better" team that wins. the "better" team did win.
