The more I watch Messi, the more I'm amazed at his greatness..............

However, sure more then a few here do not believe he is the best player currently.

Ronaldo or Messi. There is no telling how much ass Ronaldo gets.....maybe the only person in the world i'd trade places with. Just for that reason alone. Plus getting paid to play soccer and be a bad ass like he is.

Messi. The scary thing is I don't think the dude has even turned 24 yet. C. Ronaldo has to be in the discussion but I'd personally put Iniesta at #2 in the world just because of how great he is on both sides of the ball.

Top Ten - maybe..

Slightly dated from 2010..

1. Lionel Messi- Argentina's pride, Lionel Messi plays soccer as the Forward. This 23 year old born in Barcelona, Spain; has proven himself already what he can give once he enters the field. He achieved every career development there is in soccer. This magnificent player really deserves to be on top of the list.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo- for the past 6 years of Cristiano Ronaldo's (Midfielder) professional career, he made 118 scored goals and 3 Premiere League titles. Ronaldo was sold to team Madrid just last summer for $132 million which is considered as the most expensive transfers made. Today he is well known as the lethal dribbler, long distance shooter, and superlative header.

3. Wayne Rooney- the perfect striker of England's team Manchester United landed the third spot on the list. At the age of 17, Wayne is already playing internationally; and he was then labeled as the "baby-faced assassin" by a British journalist, Michael Owen.

4. Kaka- Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite widely known as Kaka, is known for his great shots in the field. In 2007 he obtained the FIFA World Player Trophy, man of the match award of FIFA Club World Cup, and Golden Ball. Last year he was transferred by Milan to Real Madrid for €65 million.

5. Xavi- In spite his age and lack of height and pace, Xavi is savvy enough to manage his team to win 2010 World Cup in South Africa with Spain. This midfielder is the brain of the game. He knows how to keep the ball and exudes a great work-rate.

6. Didier Drogba- Even if Didier started quite late for his age in this field, he still proves that 31 is still a prime age for him to be one of the formidable strikers (as seen on his aggressive power in the game).

7. Andres Aniesta- A funny master of Midfielder from Spain's team Barcelona; is on the top 7 best soccer players. Andres also known as El Illusionista is famous for his versatility and energy. High point of his career is winning the 2010 World Cup.

8. Fernando Torres- Labeled as one of the sexiest players, Fernando has more to offer. When this Forward player of Spain's team Liverpool makes score, it sure does make the game more fantastic!

9. Steven Gerrard- is England's Midfielder for the Liverpool team. Steven established in his career what kind of scorer midfielders should be; and that is why he is on the 9th best player of this game in the world.

10. Michael Essien- This two-time African player of the year; Michael is the pride athlete of Africa. He is considered as the major midfielder of the world. His unlimited energy to every game made him on top of his game.

Agree with most.

It's Lionel Messi, and he has distanced himself by a good bit from whoever is arguably #2.

To even mention Beckham as the best player in the world currently is comical. There's a lot more to soccer than free kicks.
