No! A future would be a proposition bet at your Offshore Book. Not sure if any are still carrying them but I haven't checked lately. They may still be available. If you bet the Derby on Saturday, all futures would likely have been taken down and only the closing track odds will be available. The closing track odds are the final odds when the gate opens for the race.

I would say yes its a future. The pro's are you have fixed odds,the cons are if you're horse scratches you lose. With fixed odds they may be better than the "off" odds.
