The guy posts this in the Thor thread:

comic movies are easy to make. have a built in audience, dumb material for a dumbed down public.

big budget movies are for stupid people who have no taste in film.

Then he starts a thread entitled: "is it wrong to play video games when you are older?"

Simply brilliant.

I understand what he means. The story for a comic book movie is already laid out. It is not original material. A lot of comic book fans go to comic book movies automatically even though the movie might look like shit.

Big budget movie can be good as well but look at movies like Transformers 2. People go see it just because it's "in" and everyone else is doing it. Again there are many big budget movies that are good but for the most part they aren't anything great, just special effects and famous actors and lots of marketing.

but it doesn't mean that only people who are STUPID see and enjoy big budget movies.

And there's nothing "wrong" about people playing video games at any age...just like reading books, or watching movies. Who gives a shit what age you are and what form of entertainment you utilize?

I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

It just seems that the older you get, the harder it gets to find time to play them...

If I hit my 30s and still have the time to light up a blunt and play Fallout for a few hours...I will be the happiest person alive. But fuck that'll be so wrong!

Who cares if you like to play games. No difference in them and watching TV IMO. I play most of the Blizzard games (i.e. Starcraft, Warcraft, WoW, etc.) and have friends who are 16 to 60. If you are worried about what people think about you because you do enjoying gaming some then you have other problems to worry about.

I have a ***, ps3, and NES. *** was in impulse buy, I've never turned it on. I use the PS3 for blu rays and watching DVDs, it's been probably 2 years since a video game has been in it. However every couple months I feel like playing a video game so I hook up the NES for some Mario or Tyson Pubchout. I feel like gaming consoles are more like entertainment consoles rather than gaming.

I have an xbox 360. I buy 2 games a year. But I also have a netflix subscription and I run it through my xbox. You can also use Zune to rent movies that just came out on DVD. It is a total entertainment center.

I'm 42 and play all the time.

Seeing as Pong came out in the 70's I would bet that the majority of gamers are over 35. I'm not sure how much longer this stigma that video games are for children is going to stick around, but it's clearly out of date.

I CANNOT wait for LA Noire. I'm not over 35 but you seem to know about games so you were as good to quote as anyone, lol
