it's sad when i have to be excited about an 18-17 record in may...but i really am haha. pitching has been good, the bats are still mediocre but walker is killing the ball thus far...here's to continued success! (if that's what you wanna call it)

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Pirates pitching en fuego:

Pittsburgh (26-28) has won eight of its last 13 games, with stellar starting pitching the primary reason.

The rotation has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 13 consecutive starts, its longest such streak since a 14-game run Sept. 13-27, 1968 - the year before major league baseball lowered the pitcher’s mound.

Maholm goes today, pitched CGSO last time out...

Pirates have won more road series this year, than they did in all of 2009 and 2010 combined.

if they can just start winning at home, they'll finally crack .500

6/9/2011:

The Pirates evened their record this late in the season for the first time since also being 30-30 on June 11, 2005. Pittsburgh has won four of five and six of eight.

Still 5.5 back though...

At 34-33, this is the first time the Pirates have been over the break-even point so late in a season since Aug. 15, 1999, when they were 59-58.
