His noodle arm once again cost the Sox a game last night.

He can't throw, his stolen base percentage against is still rock bottom in the majors, and it's not even close, he couldn't throw out Davis at third last night, that most HS catchers could have pegged, who scored on an easy sac fly.

He's a laughing stock at the plate, around the league he's knows as "Mr. automatic out" hitting .150.

I don't care if he can call a good game, that rotation can call their own game, they don't need that baggage behind the plate calling pitches, Beckett know what to throw, so do the others.

Varitek is three years past retirement, 6 years past his prime.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

I hate taking Boston when he is behind the plate because other teams can get into scoring position easily. Not to mention he is terrible offensively as well.

His bat speed (or lack of) is non existent. He's swinging at pitches that's in the catchers mitt already.

Base runners droll when they get on if he's behind the plate.

Posada is my guy, but even he knows this is it after this season.

Because the Red Sox pitchers are babies and all ask to pitch to Varitek. I guess that shows you how much faith they have in salty. I think when you said noodle arm you are talking about how they did a pitch out and still couldnt throw the guy out in extra innings. It was disgusting

He's been noodle arm for the past 6 seasons.
He's like Juan Pierre of noodle arms (or Johnny Damon)

Jason Varitek: Varitek may still be in picture for Red Sox
Jason Varitek - C - BOS - Dec. 14 - 9:08 am et
Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe was told by a major-league source that Jason Varitek may still be in the picture for the Red Sox.
It's hard to see how. Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Kelly Shoppach are the favorites to make the Opening Day roster and we certainly don't see them carrying three catchers. Varitek has spent his entire 15-year major league career with Boston and has worn the "C" on his chest since 2005, but it's time to move forward. Dec. 14 - 9:08 am et
