Prosecutors in New York will hold a press conference today to discus the arrest of a Weymouth man who allegedly stole numerous items from Fenway Park, including a pair of shoes belonging to second baseman Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis's first-base glove, a home-plate mold, and a sign marking the 380-foot centerfield fence.
In a statement, the Suffolk County, N.Y. District Attorney's Office said it is prosecuting Jamie Pritchard-Holland, 32, for criminal possession of stolen property in that state. He also faces prosecution in Massachusetts for two counts of receiving stolen property that are now pending in Boston Municipal Court.
Pritchard-Holland allegedly stole the items in April 2010 from Fenway Park, officials said.
It was unclear how authorities learned that Pritchard-Holland allegedly had the items in his possession, but some reports state that he allegedly tried to sell them at an auction house in Long Island, N.Y.
Pritchard-Holland is due back in court in New York on June 20.
