The problem with the free listing fees is these $0.00 fees also have a final value fee per listing of 8.75% or $20, whichever is lower. Additional listings within the 30 day period that they give to you are subject to the following insertion fees and final value fees. So you will pay 9% up to $200 on your first 5 items sold if they are free listings. In other words, your first 5 sales for that month. The smartest thing to do in this case is to just sell some of your least valued items first within this period, then you'll only pay half on what you are really trying to sell. There's supposedly a few other ways to get around the listing fees, but it's all a hassle...Just remember before listing anything on Ebay that there is a listing fee, which is based on how much you list the item...and there is a final value fee, based on the price you sold it for. This is what happens when you have a monopoly on everybody else. If Ebay had some legitimate competetion, this wouldn't be happening.
